And I like the 'Ronseal' comparison - "does exactly what it says on the tin". From the lyrics I've read, I can't see many 'hidden meanings' in these songs. As some reviewer said, as subtle as a kick in the nuts.

Well it is a concept album with one specific goal. It's a condemnation on all fronts, rather than something intended to be interpreted in any way besides the way Matt envisioned it anyway IMO. Matt said in a recent interview that music is the best way to connect with what someone else is thinking or feeling so that's probably what he was going for.

As for the interview itself, I'm not sure it taught me anything new about the album or tour, aside from figuring out Reapers' fairly ridiculous chorus. But heyho.

I used to find NME at Borders bookstores, but those places are no longer.

Maybe in other areas of the world; for decades we only had Borders and Barnes and Noble.

And then a few "independent" booksellers where you pretty much just had to order what you wanted from them, and spend the next weeks wondering why you didn't just order from Amazon in the first place...

 

The only two places I could get imported magazines were Borders, which had a CRAZY selection of them, and an old comic shop that went out of business like 15 years ago when the owner was charged for mob activities.

Hardly. We had Copperfield books and Waldenbooks, but their selection wasn't that great, and the latter was eventually bought out by Borders anyhow. And a couple little indie stores with very little. If I want comic books or graphic novels, then I do go to a local shop in town that actually has a great selection. But for actual books and magazines, Borders had better stuff. 'Murica don't need no books!

they don't sell back issues unfortunately and I've checked B&N for years and none of the stores I've been to in southern California carry NME.

 

BUT I was able to find the issue in the LA area! My brother just picked up a copy for me at Vroman's in Pasadena. I also called The Magazine Cafe in NYC. They have it in stock and they'll ship to you. Hope that'll help some of my fellow 'Murricans.
