Tesseract
I'm looking forward to it. Sounds like it might be a somber song with strings and guitar, which makes me think Blackout (not expecting Blackout 2 or anything).
Jimmyneutron
Wasn't it also mentioned that this would be the poppiest on the album?
BigGeorge
Wasn't it also mentioned that this would be the poppiest on the album? Revolt apparently is.
Mr Problematique
IIRC, it was said that it's kinda a love song
Mattestro
From the descriptions, I can imagine this being one of my favourites, especially if it features the Milan strings IG clip
That Little Animal
So we have Jimmy Hendrix, Dire Straits and now Muse's first ever Rod Stewart comparison. I'm intrigued.

jonisdead
Yeah, they're in a different track... The Globalist We don't necessarily know that for sure. It's possible that the juxtaposition of those songs might call for brighter strings in Aftermath to serve as a contrast.
HomesickSubterranean
Yeah, they're in a different track... The Globalist iirc the milan strings are in a different key from the globalist's intro EDIT: wait actually they're in the same key as the outro I think so maybe they're in that part

OT: Hope the Aftermath of (this song) and my work is good. More OT: Muse Edited May 28, 2015 by jonisdead
-FutureStar-
More OT: Muse Get back on topic. FFS.
BigGeorge
After Matt mentioned this song was going to be about love I honestly thought Aftermath was going to be a dud. I'm actually pretty confident about this now, especially after the Hendrix, Floyd and Dire Straits comparisons, especially excited to hear the guitar work. googoogee
Honestly I thought this song was going to be another piano ballad, like explorers. But now I'm becoming more intrigued.
-FutureStar-
I gotta be honest, I'm not holding out much hope for this track. The descriptions don't make it sound like it's gonna be bad, but I remember descriptions of songs from previous albums being this sort of vague and they ended up not being that great. At least this way I can be pleasantly surprised though.
serpentsatellite
This is one that I'm looking forward to! Not sure what everyone's deal is with love songs. The Dire Straights thing put me off a little - not because I know more than one song by the band, but because I remember my dad being disturbingly obsessed with them, and well, that's really uncool, right? Origin Of Failure
I think I really like this song, it has a bit of Explorers in it but a lot of Pink Floyd-esque guitars. Very very great.
Tim59
Sounds like Dave Gilmour is a guest musician.
AguanteRiver
I like it! It's chill but not boring. Reminds me a bit of both Exogenesis (the best part of The Resistance IMO) and Blackout.
Dillyracer
I prefer Muse doing Pink Floyd than Queen, that's for sure. Not a big fan of the backing vocals going on in the end though.
