jonisdead
S'alright. Liked the synths. Loved the big outro too. But the intro, it's way way WAY too similar to Starlight. Not at all, the tempo is way off and it's way more driven. It's this if anything:
Asmodius
I agree. I wonder if maybe Muse drop Starlight from the set when they play this song? I would really be OK with that. Shit yeah or maybe just Play them back to back Stockholm Syndrome-->Psycho Dead Inside--->Map Mercy--> Starlight
Citizen_Eraser
They really need to start rotating songs sensibly. A set with Mercy and Starlight and also Psycho and Uprising in it is going to be tiresome. This so much. I still remember my favorite youtube comment when Psycho dropped. "Fuck you Muse. This is Uprising"
Clunge
Similar. SIMILAR. S-I-M-I-L-A-R. . EDIT: to JJ. Do you ever take a chill pill?
Jimmyneutron
Sounds promising. More starlight-glorious than guiding light, which is good.
Redwingsrock
Shit yeah or maybe just Play them back to back Stockholm Syndrome-->Psycho Dead Inside--->Map Mercy--> Starlight At least Chris wouldn't need to change out bass's if they did that! Clunge
Yeah, definitely no Guiding Light vibe. The piano bits just sounds like Morgan forgot how to play Starlight and is just playing any old notes .
heyjackk
I'm loving this, sounds like it's pretty big live too
Hat
It's definitely less memorable than Starlight. The piano melody in particular. I'm back to being disappointed by this song.
White Heat
Reapers was also meh for me at the beginning and now im addicted to it.
kueller
It's not Guiding Light levels of dislike, but it is the first song so far (even the previewed ones) that I've felt initially negative about. I probably won't mind it but it's just one to pass off it seems. I like Starlight actually but this didn't do it.

Dee3Dee
It's not bad, but it's not really good either. Definitely the weakest of the four songs we've heard so far.
Tobiiiaaas
I think I actually prefer Mercy's keyboard intro to Starlight's. They sound very similar but Mercy's sounds a bit more...I don't know...eerie. I'm not sure that's the right word but there's something about it that feels different.
White Heat
Dead Inside -> Psycho -> Mercy -> Reapers That's how it goes on the album

White Heat
Honestly i think they are giving us the pop songs (except for Reapers) to have us unprepared for what's coming
Absolutioner
I love how this has nothing to do with Glorious whatsoever Actually digging it though! I can see comparisons to Starlight and Resistance, but I don't have a major problem with that. Should make a good single. Much better than Follow Me right now, and I imagine that chorus will only sound 100 times better on a better recording. I'm letting my hype levels rise a bit more. Hope they play it again next week so we can hear it better.

jonisdead
Worst sequence on a Muse album... The protagonist goes from zero to hero over the course of the record though. Maybe it's a sign of a progressively increasing musical quality haaaa
That_Italian_Guy
Btw, didn't Matt say that the album was going to be a 'back and forth' in terms of heaviness/softness?
jonisdead
Btw, didn't Matt say that the album was going to be a 'back and forth' in terms of heaviness/softness? If anything he probably meant something like uplifting + heavy/dark + soft as far as I can tell from what we've heard lol.

Obviously your opinion but...really? Let me remind you of the first time we heard Follow Me That made a much better impression on me at least. And sounds both heavier and somehow less cliche. Think this song may replace Citizen Erased as my all time favorite.goddamn
