Globalist ending with a piano ballad makes me think Drones could be on the rockier side of instrumentals (ie. not a Collateral Damage or an ambient piece), if it is indeed instrumental.

Or maybe they'll literally go drone/post-rock with it.

If they do go instrumental, I do hope it is rock

Hoping you're right about that, would be nice to have a heavy closer after the light hearted sounding piano at the end of The Globalist. And I was just thinking earlier how cool it would be if Muse made a Godspeed style song.

That would be perf <3

Don't think they'll do it for some reason though. They usually go for mellow/grand closers (apart from Knights) so I guess the thought of them closing with something heavy is slightly weird.

It's more reminiscent of MK Jam if anyone needs to draw such a comparison. This riff descends far more than it ascends. Helsinki is more ascending than anything

Sounds like you haven't listened to Helsinki Jam in quite a while. How can you not hear it? It's obvious.

I doubt Drones would be too dark. They seem to want the "story" to have a happy ending.

I don't think so.

Drones drones from drones to drones with drones into human drones

Drones will be about people turning into robots/killing machine, so depressing

You're skipping the part where Matt said the end of the narrative was about the person revolting and finding love again.

I'm pretty happy it doesn't end depressing. Would be pretty unMuselike.
