Bootlegs from Montreux 2002 and Helsinki 2003 feature it quite prominently. Also official DVD release from Glasto 2004 feature it, mot notably Hysteria. Starlight from HAARP, a vocal effect can be heard during the last chorus. They have dialled it down a lot more recently though, Reapers is about the only song you can hear it on ( the choruses)

I think he was referring to someone else's saying that the band is using vocal modulation to make themselves sound better at the last two gigs. The Abso era stuff was super obvious and intentional.
He's referring to wildwilly literally saying that Matt uses autotune.

I was there for the Dallas gig last night and it was phenomenal. Yes no opening act, no drones and they were late but the performance was def better than Houston seeing as they didn't actually have any instrument malfunctions. Matt's voice sounded SOOOO good live in Dallas. There were a few songs though where his voice got muffled so they need to work on the sound levels for his vocals in some spots. Totally made my year that they played CE!!! Never thought they'd play that in my home town. The Globalist was a standout for me as was Revolt surprisingly. Even though the crowds here in America suck (except for about 10% of each gig who are awesome) most of the people around me LOVED the new songs. Especially Psycho/Reapers and The Handler. Loved the stage. Its different being in the middle as it spreads the crowd out more which wouldn't be a problem in most places but here in America to many people like to stand and stare and do nothing as they listen to the music. Nothing wrong with that but just do it up in the stands. But I totally loved the stage setup mainly because the band is a lot closer to everybody and there more easily seen. Only thing regarding the stage that i'm not so sure about were the big video sheet things. Really cool during the Handler and The Globalist but other times kind of weak.

The setlist was great in one part (new songs totally rocked, CE blew me away) and totally average in another (Madness, Uprising, UD, Starlight, SMBH etc.) I didn't expect rarities in Dallas but I did expect them to play some more prog numbers with the new songs like New Born, B&H, Unnatural Selection etc. But overall the concert was the best i've ever been too and it definitely beat Muse's last two concerts here despite all of the issues. Just build the stage on time, fix some of the sound levels and get the drones working and I truly feel that this tour will go down as the best of Muse's career thus far. Hopefully they get it all in order cause they've never sounded better live as a band.

Fucking hell, could that MUSEum be any more tacky?.

you'd agree that quite a bit of the wardrobe and associated accoutrement -- particularly over the last six years or so -- has teetered on the brink of kitsch, no?

Hopefully all of these technical issues get sorted very soon. Very much looking forward to Oakland.

Does anyone have a picture of what's available for merch? Thanks.

merch is essentially what you think it will be: almost wholly t-shirts.

one t-shirt is exclusively gig-specific.

one poster.

...and that's about it.

MUSE observations Dallas 12/2/15

Video/ Light tracking sensors/tacking on the guys.

There was a number of techs doing setup on the lights before the show. There was a guy with a L shaped stand with white balls on in walking around the stage waving it in circular and figure 8 patterns. A tech did checks with a long rod with one of the white balls on the end and a remote control. The light arrays all tracked him. When the show started Matt and Chris had markers and wireless packs, you could clearly see the wiring and the sensors on Matt and Chris’ shoulders.

The announcement asking you to turn off your flash mode actually encouraged you to take pictures/video.

Matt played a black holoflake MB for Dead Inside, no guitar on a stand was used.

Tech handed Matt his guitar for the outro of Uprising.

Hullabaloons were white and one of them made it onto stage before it was popped.

Chris coiled up his own cable on the madness double neck rig.

Matt had several Matt Black MB’s that still had the Fernandes sustainer.

Matt played the Stealth M1D1 with blacked out pad on SMBH.

Matt played the ali strat on the globalist

Several fans on the rail got hit by Chris's pie.

The Mercy Confetti was shaped like the drone’s marching men and there was TONS of it.

Uh oh...

Due to unforeseen logistical and technical challenges with setting up this huge show, moving arena scoreboards in order to play in the round and the difficulty encountered moving the production between back to back shows with long journeys in between, unfortunately we are forced to reschedule the following shows:

December 6, 2015 show in Las Vegas at The Mandalay Bay Events Center has now been rescheduled to January 9, 2016

Tickets for the December 6th show will be valid for January 9th. Fans who wish to receive a refund will need to go through their original point of purchase.

December 16, 2015 show in San Diego at Valley View Casino Center has now been rescheduled to January 7, 2016

Tickets for Dec. 16th show will be honored on new date Jan. 7th. Refunds available at point of purchase.

We sincerely and deeply apologize for any and all inconveniences that our postponement may have caused. While we are keenly aware of the problems of a postponement we are equally certain that when you see the Drones Tour you will agree that it was worth waiting for. We cannot wait to play for you.

^ as expected.

now, almost all back-to-backs have been eliminated. figured that was the only way out of the mess the crew was/is facing.

also, again: it's not really the scoreboard-moving that's the issue; it's the labor-intensive load-in / suspended rigging that's the problem. 15 hours.

to that end, if you're planning on going to portland, detroit, or D.C.: keep your eyes peeled. if they don't reschedule those gigs, they will be rolling the dice...and staring another dallas-like delay in the face.

DC and Philly are only about 3 hours max apart, i would imagine that show would be fine where it is

that's the same distance b/w houston and dallas.

the dallas gig was nearly canceled. as it was, the show was delayed over two hours, and the crew barely got the stage built...on no sleep.

on top of that, a multitude of production elements had to be altogether eliminated. and they ran out of time on connecting a good chunk of the lighting.

Seriously nobody thought if it was possible to do back to back shows before booking? This just sums up all this tour so far.

If im not mistaken U2 had more than 1 stage for the 360 tour, they could've thought about it.

Not only that, but I'm certain U2 has a FAR bigger crew than Muse...

Sometimes bands have 2 or 3 stages for their tours, especially if big productions and a lot of dates are involved. I imagined it will be the same with Muse.

Detroit is rather worrisome, especially as the band/crew lose an hour with the time difference between Chicago. Glad to see they're taking this seriously though, so if they don't reschedule it there shouldn't be a problem.

I wonder how this happened. Did they staple this tour together a little too last minute, or are there other unforeseen factors that popped up? (And by 'they' I don't mean the band necessarily, but whoever' responsible for putting this tour together)

i think someone got some essential calculations incorrect; alternatively, someone set goals that aren't all that realistic.

let's assume a "smooth" load in of...12 hours (a nice goal to set. attainable? that's pushing it...)

then, 4 hours of "gig time" (doors at 6:30 usually, muse off the stage by about 10:30).

2 hours (again, a goal...) for load out.

3-4 hours of unobstructed / unimpeded travel time to another city.

destination venue required to be immediately available for load in upon crew arrival.

as you can see, the only non-variable in the schedule is the gig time. any delay in any other portion of the schedule...and...

...problemz for back-to-back gigs in different cities.

it appears they just tried to bite off a tad bit more than they could chew.
