james90
I haven’t got a Manson, but do have a guitar modded by them if that gets any K&T points. If you’re ever selling your CE-7 though... If they ever release a #details version, then sure But for now... https://reverb.com/item/16135547-2003-manson-broken-mirror-matthew-bellamy-muse

matthijs
. I have an idea though. Since I haven't got an animato to plug it into anymore, you can have that sunburst telecaster J-bass. Hehe I think it's a bit over my budget I can do 650 euros or so presently

Bs
At least you still talk to me, unlike Bs... I'm still around! Been in Japan for the last two weeks so I haven't really been online much. I do try and drop in from time to time though. Also, the new Coheed album is very nice for anyone who might be interested!

Bs
Are you excited as I am for the new Muse album? ....Thought so. Haha, well, that depends how excited or otherwise you are. I have to say Muse's new songs haven't done much for me so far sadly...

Bs
Nice to see you too, Matthijs! I don't know, I just find a lot of the new songs kind of boring to be honest. I kind of enjoyed The Dark Side the few times I listened to it, and I reckon the Something Human acoustic version might be really nice, but I find Thought Contagion and Pressure too boring and repetitive to take much interest in, while the less I say about Dig Down the better. Maybe it's just a case of not being the kind of music that I would want to listen to Muse for, but I do feel the songs have become a bit simpler and repetitive, so that I end up bored by the end, and when they're only about three minutes long anyway, that's not exactly great from my point of view. Song length obviously isn't really an issue by itself but it's more about how the music makes me feel in that time. I tend to like songs that go somewhere or have some kind of build up, and the new material lacks that from my point of view. If that's what they want to do, then great, I'm not really fussed, but it doesn't encourage me to feel like listening to the new songs again. When I go back and listen to the old albums, there's just nothing in the new music that really appeals to me by comparison, while I revisited Absolution again recently and was still blown away. matthijs
In all honesty, songs like Citizen Erased and Butterflies & Hurricanes have just spoilt us too much
Bs
Haha, well, yeah, that's part of the problem I guess. That's the Muse I fell in love with all those years ago, and it's music that I still enjoy listening to now. I've probably had mixed feelings for all of their releases since The Resistance to be honest, but this one's just leaving me feeling kind of indifferent at the moment. I'll still give it a listen of course.

Stocking
I actually...kind of really like the new album? Albeit it's not a super rock heavy album, but I really don't mind it. I kind of had to get over myself with wanting what is basically Origin of Symmetry 2.0. The tracklist has a few duds I don't like at all(looking at you Something Human/Get up and fight) but I actually really did enjoy Pressure and Thought Contagion a huge ton. Ah well, considering All I've been listening to is tons of doom and stoner metal and some indie/emo it'll make my S.O. happy to not have to hear it for the more recent future haven't been around in a while, how are you guys doing? james90
All I've been listening to is tons of doom and stoner metal haven't been around in a while, how are you guys doing? Quite stoned good now that you're here. I feel like Dave was the only other person who appreciated that type of music, but... he's now being mobbed by his followers on twitter. This wouldn't be considered doom, but I guess stoner metal (rock?) of sorts? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOVxxlX_ZCE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OO5uaBq0UuA Can't imagine how massive they must have sounded live. Bs
I'm too polite to call the new Muse album shit, but can I get away with calling it mildly awful? Nothing there for me at all unfortunately. I'll stick to Absolution and co.

matthijs
I meant interesting mostly in the sense of me wanting to know how they did it! Not my style (thinking a new bass is coming up in a bit as I finally sold my BTB405)

james90
Kyuss is one of my biggest inspirations besides Sleep! Massive sound that I wish I was around for to be honest. Respect. I'm not too familiar with Sleep other than Dragonaut. Love the riff in that song. Have you heard this before? You might recognize the track at the beginning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKbm-6VoQ-4 There's also a fairly recent video lesson with the lead guitarist/vocalist showing how to play the song. I thought that was quite cool, as I gather they were only around for a few years in the 80s, and most people will think it's a Kyuss song.
