I thnk part of why my interest in this tour has dropped is due to performances failing to stand out. I really can't think of a best performance for any of the new songs yet.

I agree. Nothing really stands out except maybe The Handler with the nice little falsetto ending and I guess Pyscho gets some improv on guitar once in a while.

As for Unnatural Selection, I think the mid-section of that song is one the coolest things they do live. It's in my top ten for favorite songs that they perform. Shame they don't play that more often.

This version is up there. The intro, the atmosphere, the guitar tones, the drums are insane throughout (the fill before the verse in particular), and the riffs at the end sound immense.

I watched this performance a few days ago and it made me kinda sad. Apart from the drums, I think it's a sub par effort that benefits from an amazing mix (Roskilde was a better 2015 performance imho). Matt's all over the place in the choruses nowadays, which are ruined anyway by Chris' backing vocals.

Personally, it irks me hearing Chris' backing vocals in tracks like Dead Inside. Particularly in this last one, during the verses, he just sounds... Oh, gosh... I don't know how to define it. I'd rather prefer they use Matt's studio backing vocals, like in The Handler they use his studio echo effects during the verses.

US is such an underrated live song. If they did a rotation between that and New Born (which they should), I'd much rather see US. The riffs, the breakdown, the solo...unf.

It's one of those songs that doesn't get requested much and probably doesn't spring to mind when you're thinking about songs you wanna see but you're missing out if you haven't seen it imo.

^Agreed

US really comes alive in a live setting, so to speak.

My favs:

Ruled By Secrecy - Pinkpop 2004, close to perfection

The Small Print - Montreux Jazz 2002, there's no question here

Fury - Zénith (2004) aka the falsetto version:

New Born - Glastonbury 2004

Futurism - Tokyo 2013

Hyper Music - That tv show where he screams (2000)

Showbiz - NPA in France 2000 (the hat, the scream, the guitar throwaway)

No riffs but best post-Absolution Tour version of Stockholm by miles. I'd even argue it gives Glasto and Earls Court a run for their money actually.

I know it's a pretty well-known gig but I've never really watched much from the whole thing tbh. There's shouts for best performances of TAB, Bliss, Hysteria, Invincible and (obviously) Supermassive. Matt's voice was really on form, love the stage too. Up with the best pro-shot of the BH&R era along with Gran Rex imo.
