crystAlex Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I posted this in a different Sub a while back, but I kind forumite adviced me to post here for more opinions! (Thanks!) You might call it self-promotion, but that’s in fact… only my second target I've in fact registered here, because when I think of rock with an edge, and some electronics, Muse is the first band I think off, so I'm just really curious about your opinions. I’ve been doing this one-man rock project for some time now. Used to be guitar player in a progressive metal band, but the last few years, I felt like writing more song oriented stuff, and perhaps balance the metal with the rock somewhat. Anyhow… There’s still some rough edges around here and there, that keep it from being too straightforward. https://www.facebook.com/cinnamonblindspot Well, picking up bass, singing, drum& synth programming was not easy. But picking up mixing…? Man, an another story altogether! Still far from reaching Expert-bedroom-producing-levels though. This brings me back to my first target… which is feedback. It would really mean a lot to me if you could take some time to listen to the songs already posted, and give me your opinion. (Songwriting, mixing, anything…) Of course, liking and/or sharing is appreciated in ridiculously huge ways, but feedback is the main target here. Also: I know my influences, but it would be nice to hear which other bands pop up in your head if you should describe the music. Cheers, all! Be well! alex
haze015 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 (edited) At the moment, it doesn't seem to quite know what it wants to be. Always seems to be a guitar and seems to cloud/clash with the synths. Plenty of other bands that mix the two and do it very well, always felt Muse were a bit weak at it, like they are only doing what has been done before (Hysteria is possibly the only interesting use of synths they've done) and OOS used lots of synths and no one really considers it a hybrid or remotely "electronic". Currently got Ultravox's 1981 album Rage In Eden on, well worth a listen. By the way, my band is somewhat a mix of rock and electronica: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kiAXoBJCVI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNUGEJ4GFqQ Edited May 1, 2014 by haze015

Anyone who can call Muse weak at what they do, must be quite unbelievable. Thanks for the feedback concerning the clash. A valuable hint for mixing purposes.
haze015 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Anyone who can call Muse weak at what they do, must be quite unbelievable. Just really into electronic music.
KMaassen Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I am drummer in the band "DEHAZE" and our new song is inspired by Muse in the absolution era, what do you guys think of it?
