musecasters
it's still probably part of his sound, but there are other things involved now. this is what channel 3 sounds like by itself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XxeiIdCLVk interesting to see him turn off the FF for the riff
sidious911
someone suggested prison song, but i don't think that's it. Yea I find myself wanting to chant the vocal parts between guitar riffs, but listening to the actual song, it doesn't seem quite right, but does resemble it. Clunge
I thought TR was more balanced. Can't think of any catastrophic tones. T2L has been about 50/50 for me, some killer ones, some gash ones. Best - Sign O' The Times, Dead Star, Supremacy, Survival. Worst - New Born (when played), Madness.

Clunge
2006 was the worst though. Everything sounded absolutely shite until mid-2007.
muse59200
T2L tour tone sounds so much digital.
FabriPav
Worst - New Born (when played), Madness. Meh, both times I saw New Born it sounded huge and not too fuzzy. And Madness really? Sometimes the solo was slightly fuzzier than needed but I still liked it.
sidious911
Nothing beats that electronic sounding verse of SMBH he's been using. Sounds like a sub octave or something. Probably one of my favorite tones.

Clunge
I prefer SMBH from the TR tour to T2L. Not a big fan of whatever the octave effect. The meaty fuzz towards the later end of TR was perfect.

Jaicen
Enit Agreed. Some nice tones in there but really seems like there's a lack of character lately. I hate his tone for Madness solo too.

I hate his tone for Madness solo too. i've always liked the ultra-fuzzy madness solo, the jools holland is the best performance of the song (and solo) in my opinion [YT] [/YT]

Jaicen
What does this word mean ? Isn't it. (Is it not). It's a vulgar contraction/slang term. Agreed on the Jools thing though, sounds like a DI'd Fuzz factory. Like.
Jaicen
interesting to see him turn off the FF for the riff Is there a HD source for this vid? He turns it off because he uses his volume pedal to alter the gain during the verses, which is mighty difficult using the volume knob.
muse59200
oh, ok, thanks for the explaination. In my opinion, matt used too much the DI fuzz tone, it was great for SMBH in HAARP but it doesn't work with every songs.
