Which makes it more likely that he was just using some guitar-y tones to produce what I'd always assumed was Matt. I'd just prefer if he played it even if it wasn't his part because I love watching Matt switch between them quickly (e.g. below) and know from personal experience how fun it is to try to sing and play that chorus at the same time Maybe, I can sort of see both sides. Matt playing it on guitar would be a quick way to make the song sound bigger. I have a thing about liking to see a song ‘recreated’ live as it is on the record where possible though, and I think some tweaks to the mix could solve the slight flatness there atm. I like seeing Matt switch roles on-stage too but I think I got enough of that kick watching him go between synth, piano and mic tbh, a guitar strapped on his back might just make him look encumbered to me, idk. While it may be bass, the fact that Chris does it live doesn't really have to mean much. Has that ever happened before though, translating a part to bass live for Chris to do? I've paid that much attention but what's Morgan doing during Algorithm live? Could he not handle the synth or, dare I say it, just have that as a backing track? Spotlight on Matt as he begins on piano (with his guitar strapped on his back), moves to the front for the vocals/guitar parts and as he returns to the piano...passes the guitar to a tech? I don't believe Chris ever has. The only thing I can think of is him helping out with the Assassin intro but of course that's him using a guitar string on bass. Knights of Cydonia Invincible/SFA to be the ‘comeback’ song of this tour. Clocks in around two hours with the medley factored in. I wouldn’t say there’s anything ultra rare there (save for Invincible/SFA of course) but there’s a handful of fan/band favourites plus a couple of rotation spots for double nighters.
