It doesn't make sense that this is the band's decision. If Matt really wanted the G#5 on the DVD, he could just as well do it live? It's not THAT hard for him. In post, they put in the G5 (I think) from the studio version: That note is much quieter than the G#5 from this Survival performance, which drowns out the live note, rather than complementing it, as the TaB one does.
