sade
The way I read it, social animals= twitter link, so twitter.com/18 charaters 18 characters consist of the clue that is made up from the comtemporaries of Kelvin. Based on the "About me", Clausius and Carnot are given...Joule probably too by name recognition EDIT: Also, "five more specialists in my field will help you find", so Kelvin is a part of the clue. 18/6=3...so three characters per scientist? altbecky
So the twitter account we should be looking for is an anagram of the six scientists? Great. There aren't like, a thousand possibilities or anything....
sade
Could be initials but Lord Kelvin is William Thomson, where as Nicolas Léonard Sadi Carnot has four names...unequal number of initials. Other potential scientists that get named often in the Wiki articles on thermodynamics are Ludwig Eduard Boltzmann, James Clerk Maxwell, Josiah Willard Gibbs. altbecky
their initials including the V in Von Helmholtz and the L in Lord Kelvin's full name equal 18. I am not very good anagrams. EDIT: Oh, I didn't know Carnot had more names than just Sadi Carnot...maybe not...

Lord Kelvin
As Muse fans are thoughtful people I thought you may be interested to read a little more about the work my fellow scientist and I have been up to. Thanks to the very excellent wikipedia you can read all about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_law_of_thermodynamics One of my contemporaries is credited with the first formation in 1824 and he has inspired us all for over 100 years leading to the work of two brilliant men who have proven that 'a system with given energy, constituents and parameters, there exists a unique stable equilibrium that can always be reached from any other state (with the same energy, constituents and parameters) by a reversible weight process.'nothing Fascinating!
