Considering I'm the only one on this thread that didn't plainly say "this sucks", I assume this was aimed at me.

Really late but still wanted to say it wasn't aimed at you, I was reading the main site and twitter and there are lots of people really defending it saying that it is good because it is random.

Riiight, there are lots of good random and maybe nonsense videos that are good, but this one, is just a no no.

I am waiting for Tom to say something about it on twitter even when we will never know if they are serious about it or not.

Still don't know how they came up with such a shit video. Do think it's their worst. I don't even think the Uno one was that bad

Indeed, there's a difference between poor execution because of limited resources and explicitly not giving a fuck about concept and execution despite being loaded.

This is a big middle finger to errrm, themselves? Warner? Or they were just exhausted from touring (You know, from playing an hour and 20 minutes every other day) that they let the sub-par director take the lead a little too much.

In their defense I don't think it's the shows that tire bands. More the constant travelling.

Yup, but the both the shows, the schedule and their wallets should provide the opportunity to make better videos than ever before. But they're making the worst.

And I can't blame them, it's fine, videos aren't as important as they used to be. As an artist you're basically just making a straight-to-youtube vid. But I'd have preferred it if they just didn't give a fuck with another lame performance vid rather than irrelevant and repulsive imagery that really brings down a great song.

On one hand yeah videos aren't important in the sense of having your stuff go on MTV or something, but when you look at something like Gangnam Style it wouldn't have become remotely as popular as it did if it weren't for the video. It can help make the track stand out in a different way than just the music itself. Uprising got pretty well known for that video with the killer teddy bears.

Yes, yes and yes :yesey:

Uprising had a cool idea. I don't really like the whole style that it was shot in, but it at least shows that some serious work was done, the same with Madness.

But this is just uninspired. And I guess that they wanted to have a purely performance video at first, but then someone decided that they need to stick some kind of a shit story on top of it

Honestly, I really hope that Panic Station would become Muse's Gangnam Style. It just deserves to go massive. And judging by the pics that we've seen it has potential unless they fuck everything up with terrible editing or adding something unnecessary.

Why do people actually think PS will be a single?

Warner made the fantastic decision not to release it as the first single, and they may well have decided not to release it at all.

1) it's receiving a lot of airplay in US (it's already #23 on the Alternative chart)

2) they shoot a video for it in Shibuya

It probably will be the next single in the US.

There was an interview with Matt and Dom and Matt said Panic Station was the next single in the US, and then they said Supremacy was the next single for Europe.

So lets hope the Panic Station video is better. (not a hard challenge).

But then again if those costumes are involved anything is possible...

Whatever people want to say... releasing Madness in the US as the first single turned out to be a FANTASTIC idea... I was completely wrong.

Well, right about it giving them more of a "soft" fanbase than they seem to want at their shows, but wrong about it being an absolute monster on the charts.

I also can't call to mind many Muse videos that, over the years, I haven't watched and thought... shit, I will be so embarassed if anyone watches that who knows I like this band...

Undisclosed Desires was a bit naff. NSC just because of Twilight links. Invincible because Matt looked like an idiot but the actual video was insane. SFA because band shots and acting but actual video was cool. Resistance and Follow Me weren't bad, just a bit boring but I guess to an outsider to Muse it'd look cool

EDIT: Corr, that made me think, it's fucking bizarre that we first heard about NSC being a new song 'in the oven' 3 years ago now. Dafucksy
