If they canceled this show because of the opening act, then why not cancel the Mohegan Sun show too (but please not!)? Biffy is plating April 12th in MA, then April 13th in CA for COACHELLA FESTIVAL 2013. So that is why they are not opening in CT, so it must be the attendance...

im positive its attendence. they have a show in Boston, CT, two in NYC and NJ in the week before the show. that is most definitely fulfilling everyone in the regions desire to see them

Yeah. And Biffy were going to take a private charter (well, probably still are), so as exhausting as it is, they're not the first band to do coast-to-coast gigs during Coachella. Hell, I was considering if it was possible to do weekend 1 -> MSG haha.

I had thought biffy wasn't confirmed for date in CT.... maybe I'm just imagining things though.

Maybe they were worried that Biffy would upstage them.

I've seen Biffy, and while they are good they definitely won't upstage Muse.

If anything 'Arctic Monkeys' could if they were opening.

I've seen biffy a lot, they've got so much more energy and are really tight! I'd say that Muse are the better band though, just.

.....They added this date last minute. I might not be because of the sale of tickets because on the 2nd USA leg of the Resistance tour (Fall 2010) They played on October 23 at this very venue (Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale, NY, US) then the next night, that played Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. And the Uniondale, NY shows was a close sell out and NJ WAS a sell out. Maybe when they come back in the fall of this year they might add a show here, but no promises. They canceled this show maybe because it was just too many dates to handle during one leg of the tour. Muse needs a break too, you know! But yeah, there is always hope for a show during their fall tour... for this NY show...

ya but those shows were sell outs because there weren't any other muse shows around that time. before the Nassau show they play in Boston, CT, TWO shows at MSG and at the IZOD center. that's 5 shows in the preceding 9 days in the same metro area. especially when MSG and IZOD attract the same area populations.

that said, i agree that can definitely very well be a fall tour date where those people that missed out on all these shows will look to get good seats

yes. You do have a point there. And I am one of those people who missed out on these shows...

They should've rescheduled it for the fall leg. Give it more time to sell, and maybe some people from the other 3 shows would want to come back. Both MSG shows are sold out, not sure about IZOD but probably pretty close. The only reason I can think of why they wouldn't have just moved the show to the fall is because they have a different NYC area venue already lined up for the fall.

Now the Cincinnati show had 4,983 tickets sold, yet the show still went on. How poorly must the Nassau Coliseum show have been selling to warrant being cancelled? Evidently there is a bottom line, financially speaking, and Cincy was in the black (aka profitable or at least broke even), whereas this Uniondale show was going to be in the red.

yes. Maybe that NYC area venue is The Prudential Center in NJ....

Ah...here we go. The U.S. Bank Arena in OH holds 15,000 people for concerts. And only 4,983 tickets where sold for muse. Making 71% of tickets sold, meaning a gross revenue of $220,523. Meaning that it nearly 8,000 tickets where not sold, making a 12,000 capacity audience. This NY show must of sold less than 4,000 tickets to be canceled. There is always hope for August/September.

i dont normally go grammar nazi here, but just so you dont get called out in the future, you were looking for "were" not "where"

I bought my tickets at the box office in Nassau Coliseum so I never received notification that the show was cancelled!

I just found out yesterday by pure luck. I recieved an email from the Bowery about upcoming show and it showed Muse at Izod but not at Nassau. I thought it was strange so when I clicked the link, it said the Nassau show was canceled.

So now I just bought crappy tickets at Izod and I have to take off of work tomorrow (so that I can sit in NY/NJ rush hour traffic for 3 hours).
