aww, meerkats

They were enjoying the sun starting to lower, as it was around 5:30, but with certain routes/paths shut off we couldn't view them from the better side to see the group. A shame. Still, happy with what I got.

The pictures turned out much less sharp than I had hoped but I really like the colours.

I've had a few of those issues too - aquariums/tanks are hard because of the glass, glare, water, tank lighting, motion... haha. The turtle one is really nice though.

Motion? In aquariua? NEVER :awesome:

Thank you. Yours look much more professional obviously...

Hushhhhh :p and hush :$ Thank you. I prefer the tone on yours though. It's moodier. A shame on the sharpness front but otherwise you'd have blown us all away and that'd be cruel! What camera were you using?

I am still waiting for this ONE set of shots that turns out amazing. I am using a Samsung NX3000, it's great for natural lighting and snapshots. As soon as the lighting situation is difficult though, it all becomes this blurry mess. Some pictures still manage to convey the impression that I had in mind, so I try not to worry about the picture quality too much.

I should've followed my friend's advice to get a Fuji X100S... with the necessary wherewithal, anyway .

 Thank youuuu!

I'm visiting my grandparents in the mountains for a week or so, off tomorrow... hoping to get a few good shots there as well.

Nice. I'm heading down to Ramsay Island and the famous "Bitches" tidal race over the weekend, so should have some nice ones myself.

Haven't posted in here for a while, but graduating from uni has finally given me some free time to get out and about taking pictures again. Thought I'd share a selection from the last couple of weeks. Nothing too special, but there's some nice ones there I think.

Another one to go with my other pictures a few posts above. Made up for not seeing one of these while I was in Japan by unexpectedly seeing one in the UK about a week before I left. Beautiful birds. Would have been special to see them during courtship season of course, but I'm happy just to have seen one at all really.

  • 3 weeks later...
that's awesome :)

We ran three rivers which are all really cool. The Rhuddnant is the most dramatic- you basically start at the source, then you have to hike over boggy hillside and abseil down to the point from which you can start paddling again (there's a big waterfall straight onto rock). And from there, it drops quite a way:

That highest bit of water is just above where you put back on.
