de7ilznite Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I've always kinda wondered, because the lyrics of Citizen Erased sound like he prolly did at some point in time.
Emaaa Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 wa..wa...what?? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger_syndrome i dont think so... who cares anyway? its clearly his business!
orgiinofsymmetry Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Unlike those with autism, people with AS are not usually withdrawn around others; they approach others, even if awkwardly, for example by engaging in a one-sided, long-winded speech about a favorite topic while being oblivious to the listener's feelings or reactions, such as signs of boredom or haste to leave. This social awkwardness has been called "active but odd". Nahhh not Matt! .....people with AS often have a limited range of intonation; speech may be unusually fast, jerky or loud But joking aside, I really don't think he has Aspergers, or ever had it. Otherwise all interviews with him would be absoloutely hopeless and I doubt he'd be able to interact with people so well
Fayth-in-Flyght Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Haha I suggested Matt was ADD on Muselive once and I got flamed outta the place It's possible, but give the guy some credit, he's come up with stuff we not only love but could never match ourselves
Max Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I'm autistic myself. I can tell you that there is no fucking way that he is on the autistic spectrum.
seregon Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I read this as "Did Matt have Asparagus?" How do you interprate Citizen Erased to be about Asperger's Syndrome? Just wondering like. I really don't think so, Craig Nicholls from the The Vines has Aspergers and has many tantrums/attacks over petty things like not getting the food he wants so they have had to post-pone/cancel gigs and interviews. I remember a Kerrang article where they were supposed to interview him but the whole thing was about how he and the journalist had a fight and then used the rest of the article to slag him off But no, very much doubt Matt is autistic
curious_orange Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 he seems very connected to me - if anything I'd put my money on Tourettes!
Lynzi Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I read this as "Did Matt have Asparagus?" ha me too, maybe he does have Asparagus:LOL:
_Ed_ Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Probably, ridiculously oversized and hung on his wall perhaps.
Nimpo46 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 I read this as "Did Matt have Asparagus?" lol me too i thought someone smelled his piss
Johanna Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Naahhh, not Aspergers. Tourette's more likely like Dr Dom Howard once said.
dead-duck Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I read this as "Did Matt have Asparagus?" Count me in as yet another that read this title wrong I've always kinda wondered, because the lyrics of Citizen Erased sound like he prolly did at some point in time. What was it about the lyrics that made you think that?
Black Cherry Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Apsergers isn't something you have and then get rid of like a cold or even more long term episodic like say depression; you either have it or you don't. Pretty clear he hasn't got it to me:)
dead-duck Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 i used to think I had aspergers. heh I did at one point too
de7ilznite Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 What was it about the lyrics that made you think that? The lyrics seem to express his previous difficulties with understanding social interaction. And the way the song is written appears to express various moods, when you think about it. "Self-expressed, exhausting for all. To see and to be, what you want and what you need" <--- People think he's a little...odd.
julit0 Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 As a doctor I can say: of course! No. Looks like he has maniacal-depressive psychose.
de7ilznite Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 As a doctor I can say: of course! No. Looks like he has maniacal-depressive psychose. Yeah, I thought so myself. Somewhere along those lines at least. I mean Muse had a bootleg entitled "Manic Depression", for crying out loud.
