2013.03.17 - Mandalay Bay Resort, Las Vegas, NV, US

Recommended Posts

Well whaddya know, this gig is now happening for me. GA is still available, and after talking with a few friends, we've decided to join the party. I've made the drive up to Vegas for shows before (but never Muse), and I have to say I'm really looking forward to not waking up at some ungodly hour to queue (Vegas is a crazy town, but most of the concert-goers are laid-back), especially since I very well might be nursing a hangover in the mornings.

Now we can get crunk with everyone from Cali for real this time :awesome:

Oh how I wish this concert was in June, its only a few months before my 21st birthday. Lesigh.

Of course I could always get a fake ID but I don't even know how to go about doing that :$ oh well.

They probably crack down on the ID's in Vegas and you may need two pieces :/

I was there last May and had a friend buy my a drink and the guy asked for my ID which I didn't have with me. There was a bit of an argument but I ended up getting the booze which would never ever happen in Canada! :noey:

Just have a Muser buy you a drink while you're off somewhere or in the background (not hovering, obviously ). Nobody in Vegas looks twice at a group of people who all have drinks, at least if they all look reasonably of-age.

This is pretty crappy advice that you find on the internet.

I find just the opposite because casino's get in a whole bunch of problems.

You get ID'ed all the time in Vegas casino's if you look under 30-firstly to stop underage gambling and then stop drinking. The reason is that a casino can face a $10,000 fine. I remember in 1998 the Hilton was fined $350,000 for allowing underage kids loiter in the casino-the kids were in line for the Star Trek attraction.

For a show like Muse in Vegas, security will be ID'ing and looking for underage drinking and gambling.

Also, if you are a Nevada resident buying alcohol for minors results in a driving license suspension. It is a misdemeanor to possess or use a fake ID showing the bearer to be 21 or older, not only for buying alcohol and entry into 21+ establishments, but also for any other purpose (like gambling) where proof of age is required. It is a gross misdemeanor to provide fake IDs to people under 21.

Really people, don't be foolish!

I've only been carded twice in Vegas since I've been 21, but back in Napa I'm carded if I so much as look at a wine bar.

One time they were looking for some 16 and 18 year olds that were illegally gambling. They confronted me and asked for ID, then the guard's manager told him it wasn't me, apologized and asked me if I saw the kids.

The other time I was playing three card and this guy won a big pot and they ID checked him saying he looked young. He was 40. The winner pointed out that if anyone looked young and needed their ID checked, it was me. Everyone agreed and the pit boss came over and ID'd the whole table.

Other than that, I'm surprised that I'm rarely carded for drinks, etc. But I agree that it is best to play it safe and it's not worth the risk.

I wasn't really talking about when you're inside the casinos. I was more referring to when you're outside walking the Strip. I have never seen anyone get stopped and carded while walking around outside with a drink, and I've walked around with short girls who definitely look like they could be underage. That said, it should go without saying that there's an inherent risk in underage drinking (or providing drinks to underage people), so use your own best judgment.
