WOOO! I'm definitely hoping to get barrier too! This will be my first Muse show. I was at Lolla this year and was front and center for The War on Drugs, Metric, the Black Keys, RHCP, Sigur Ros, At the Drive-In, and Jack White. Best weekend of my life. I would love to see some people from the boards at the show. I have a lot of friends doing seats, but only 2 of us are doing GA.

Oh! So exciting that this is your first show! I made loads of friends when I first saw them (my mother and I went...she's a Muser, too, which is awesome) and then at Lolla I met up with some people from Tumblr. So this show I'd love to meet up/hangout with some people from the boards, tumblr, or the facebook group(s) since I'm going alone (or with my mother, she hasn't decided) again.

Yes! I think we should all plan a meet up. I saw them for the first time last year at Lolla and the Musers I met there were amazing. I cried like a little bitch for a few of the songs (Out of shock that I was actually on the barricade watching them live) and they didn't make fun of me, but they said they had the same reaction. Gotta love your Muse family.

Ha! That was totally me during RHCP on the barrier at Lolla this year. I made eye contact with Anthony, and he kind of giggled at me rocking out during "By the Way", and when I yelled "I love you, Flea!", he pointed at me and yelled, "I love you too." So, yeah, totally get it. Haha. If I'm that barrier for Muse, I'll lose it.

  • 2 months later...

three things

1. muse = best live performers EVER

2. any word on when we can start queuing to be first to the barrier / where to park / etc.

3. looking for 1 GA floor ticket, one of my buddies wants to make the trek up from Champagne, IL and join our group for the concert

(already put a notice in the ticket swap/sell forum as well)

much thanks!

I'm not sure when we can line up, but since JLA just sits on the street without parking lots and such to block off, I would think it would be easier to form a line easier than at some venues. I'd love to get a meet-up organized, so we can all hold each others' spots while we pick up our tickets. Another nice thing about JLA is that the box office is supposedly open at 10am, unlike some venues. Hopefully that holds through for Muse.

It's been a few years since I've been there. NIN in 2005, they had a "fan club" section on the ground, that got let in early to watch a soundcheck/m&g from the barricade. From there, they had early merch sales and it was just a waiting game to get let into the actual arena area.

Foo Fighters 2008 I remember waiting in a line up above, in the area where the huge parking structure connects to the venue. It was cold. And I have no idea if there were other entrances. I had reserved seats for both shows so I wasn't too concerned with the whole being in first thing.

I've been to tons of games at the Joe, but the only time I've been there for a show was the first time I saw RHCP, which was also the only time I saw them from seats, as opposed to on the rail. I know people were lined up in that walkway coming from the parking garage, but we bypassed that and went right outside to wait and go in the main doors. However, RHCP only does actual GA pits at stadiums, festivals, and small shows. Their standard arena shows are always floor seating, so lining up early is unnecessary. I have no idea if, in my case, those were the floor seating people that still had to get wristbands or whatever. We were lower bowl. I'm assuming the Foos show was GA because that's the only way I've ever seen them. I wish I would've gone that year, so I knew how they handled it. Haha.

Yay!!!! Just bought our GA tickets through Ticket Master (face value) this morning! 16 days and counting!!

If you don't have tickets yet they may still have some available.

I about choked when I saw the scalper prices for GA in Chicago.... One was just over $750.

not sure on typical early arrivals for a show at the Joe either, but it will be my younger brothers' first Muse gig - and they want to be at the barricade/front - so we were planning on 9am-10am, and would go earlier/later depending on when other people were planning on lining up to be at the front.

this might be ridiculously early (i'd be all for sometime early afternoon, maybe 2pm), but i'm a little disoriented about when people usually queue up, since i'm coming from nyc, where lines can start as early as 8pm the night BEFORE a show if it's big enough :)

My experience in the past has been that Detroit doesn't seem to line up as early as some other cities. But I've never seen Muse before. I can't imagine needing to be there extremely early, especially since it's early March, and it's been bitterly cold here. I would say late morning would be early enough to get barrier, but I'm not sure. I do know the Gordie Howe entrance is the one we'll use. And the box office is at the foot of those stairs.

I called the box office today. The woman working wasn't aware that Muse.mu tickets weren't paperless. I told her as far as I know, TicketMaster tickets are all paperless. I got out my e-mail confirmation and told her it says Will Call, and she said in that case, those of us with tickets from the site should pick up our tickets at the box office.

It looks like it's going to be a chilly weekend. I think our group is going to come up after lunch and hang out at Detroit Brewing for a bit before picking up our tickets. I'm not willing to brave the cold for hours just to get barrier, but we'll play it by ear.

yes definitely stay warm, everyone that will be in the queue tomorrow!

I'm trying to lower my setlist expectations just so I'm not walking away disappointed. I'll be happy enough just hearing ONE of: Map, Sunburn, Bliss, Ruled by Secrecy, Plug In Baby. Not asking for a lot.. heh.
