Matt Bellamy's voice has never been better

I've come late to this thread so forgive me if someone's already said this. People's voices get deeper as they get older. I don't know why people think his voice isn't as good as it used to be because he can't hit notes that are as high as the ones he could hit 20 years ago. Any sensible singer sings in a lower key as he/she gets older. This is why Paul McCartney always sounds embarassing live when he performs old songs; he is still singing in the same key he did when they were first recorded.

He sang 'Starlight' in a lower key on the 2nd Law Tour. I've only seen Muse once live but Matt sounded fantastic so I don't understand what everyone is talking about, either.

They've done starlight in a lower key since 2006...

I wonder why?

Because it makes it easier to sing. Especially this part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-j3clZRH3M&t=3m10s (original key)

doesn't mean he can't hit the notes though. Tops at like F#4. It's just a crowd pleaser that is played and sung every single night, made much easier by lowering the key and letting the audience do most of the work. ie the perfect live song.

Wow, I forgot how far this has gone downhill as a live song.

That effect on Matt's voice during the chorus :stongue: bloody hell, better than Hulla (par the screams)

You mean where he covers up the notes he can't hit with guitar? Soooooo cooooool :awesome:
