Rylle
This is probably my favorite song from T2L. Don't get me wrong, I adore other numbers like Supremacy and Panic Station, but I absolutely adore this song.

Riveon
I was scared I would dislike this, but thankfully that turned out not to be the case. It's no Blackout, but it doesn't have to be, to be great. The "it was a mistake in prisoning my soul" lyric is a bit weak though.
Nipso
Im a sucker for the lyrical line "We dont belong here, it was a mistake imprisioning our souls" Â Â Fucking love that line, along with the rest of the song. Can't wait to hear it live, should be fantastic to sing along to (if they play it, of course).
Dee3Dee
Â Fucking love that line, along with the rest of the song. HannahG123
This is probably my favorite song from T2L. Don't get me wrong, I adore other numbers like Supremacy and Panic Station, but I absolutely adore this song. Me too trying to learn it on the piano right now. There's a section in the making of video where Matt is on piano and chris on bass and they are jamming away and Matt is humming along and it is insanely beautiful
HannahG123
From you, or the song? And such a mental image. Oh Hannah. <3 Both my voice was proper cracking with emotion and just ugh it was fun

SnkRay
I've just come up with a theory which I wanted to share with you. We all know Explorers is about resources running dry and wanting to leave the planet. What if the song is not written in Matt's perspective, but that of another (fictional) person. And there's the ending "Shhhh, go to sleep." After listening to the lyrics a few times and hearing that I was totally thinking of a person killing their beloved to free them from their miseries. What do you think?

CarrieB
everytime I hear the song I think of some kind of steampunk-utopia, especially at the "hear the engines roar" part:LOL:. it has such a great atmosphere, now it's my one-on-one favorite with Supremacy. aaaalthough the "fuse helium-3 our last hope" line was a kinda wtf moment.. when I saw someone saying that it's the actual lyrics I thought he was joking:D I hadn't seen that before either. It is indeed a wtf moment. A beautiful contemplative song about the excesses of humanity and the effect on nature but btw perhaps we should spread our parasitic reliance to the moon. I don't know much about the pros and cons of such an energy source (I don't like the idea that it still produces radioactive waste) but it still seems an odd lyric. It's not particularly artistic or conceptual is it? More a blunt statement of opinion. But then we already have the 2nd law of thermodynamics, so, I suppose, why not?! Technica
Is it just me or Out of the whole album this song feels like matt put the most emotion into the vocals?

CarrieB
It is indeed beautifully sung. I'd take this style anytime instead of "hero". And I also like the lyrics. A clever little piece. I also love the melody and the orchestration. I'm not sure it is the most emotional vocally. I think Follow Me is possibly equal first or just pips this one on that score. Perhaps. Hat
So much hate, but so much love from me. I absolutely adore this song. My favorite. What turns other people off from liking the song? THe fact that nothing really happens, that most of the melodies in it reminds them of other songs, the christmassy theme, that it drags, that it's not dark. Take your pick. I really like the song, but that doesn't mean I can't see why others don't.

Possibly the darkest song on the album bar Isolated System.

I sing along to them, I don't analyse them.
