CarrieB
I haven't had time to attempt deciphering the lyrics myself but looking at the attempts here, I love the theme. I also love the song musically. I am very very taken with the theme of the album in general. It's extremely timely, I think. It captures a very important message. FabriPav
If those are "remastered" version, I am 80 years old Sound quality is way better in some youtube videos. That guy just cut the bits at the beginning and at the end
HannahG123
The best thing about this song is that I didn't think muse could do something like this ever again and they did :'(

And all the better for it - Opeth are fucking amazing. Windowpane is one of my favourite of their quieter songs.
Guest bellamylookalike
Christ, I have to stop raping youtube on these songs and wait for the album or something Animals is fucking great.
hyper_chondriac_muser
It's such a beautiful song. It's one of the ones that harks back to their earlier days: it's got hints of Screenager, Darkshines, CoD, Bedroom Acoustics - it just makes me reminisce especially because of its dreamy quality. Just love it <
Rudderless Hippy
I really love this one, really, really love this one.
Red Muse
It's finally great to hear Muse make a dreamy track like this. Best thing since Abso.
CarrieB
It's weird because it's so not what I expected at all with the lyrical content. I expected it to be angry, but it's pensive rather than angry. Somehow that works and I love it.
Red Muse
I have to admit , it did remind me of Radiohead. I think it's just the melancholic singing though... but at least it's sounding emotionally honest.
FabriPav
It's finally great to hear Muse make a dreamy track like this. Best thing since Abso. I think it's better than most of the stuff on that album as well
Red Muse
There's something in this song that's non-existant on that album, Spanish flamenco. And that I think is another reason why I think this song is so special, mystic and maybe more personal to Matt. Abso and RT are the only albums that have no spanish/italian influence. hellodon
Lovin it...you know, pushing the release date back like they did is just hurtful bullshit. We could all have been listening for a week now. Because of The Killers? Really? Like that would have affected it AT ALL...jerks.

The album release was pushed back because Matt wanted to choose a new artwork, or something like that.
spark_
The studio version is much more comprehensible - and there are quite a few unexpected differences. Animal, you're an animal Don't take anything less Out of control, you're out of control Strike those in distress Analyse, advertise Expand Bend more rules Buy yourself an island Animals, we're animals Buy when blood is on the street Out of control, we're out of control Crush those who beg at your feet Analyse, franchise Spread out Kill the competition And buy yourself an ocean Advertise, downsize Your love Kill yourself Come on and do us all a favour The only thing I'm not quite sure on is "your love". He seemed to swap some of the lyrics around for the live version.
