That is just sad... I don't believe violence in video games etc does have horrible effects on teens but the fact that "protection" against seeing a natural action is more strict than against disfiguring actions of violence is very bad.

On the very young it can be a problem bc it can desensitize them to violence. Not saying it will for sure but it could especially with how realistic some games look these days.

With the older like teens+ it's different bc they should be able to understand. But it's funny that they don't want to expose a video game nipple to a teen when they could easily go online and watch porn quite easily.

Japan's modern flag just has the sun on it...white flag and red sun in middle.

In regards to not seeing it in your textbook...Japan's involvement in WWII is discussed differently in Japan, the US and China. It's barely discussed in American textbooks unless you are in University and specialize in Asian Hisyory or take classes focused on Asian history.

I'm from Germany, not the US

We learned about Japan's role in the war, but they just didn't print the flag into the book. Sacrificed it for more text, I should suppose!

I'm talking about the navy flag, not the country's flag. The latter is clear.

The rising sun flag is, at least according to our all favourite online textbook, still in use (or rather: again) as the flag of the Japanese Maritime self-defense force. Exactly this flag (the off-centred one) was also used as the navy flag until 1945. The centered version was the flag of the Imperial Japanese army.

I can't tell anymore which was used in the video, though I had the impression the red was darker (at least on wiki, it looks like the asymmetric flag has darker red than the centred one) but the sun was in the middle in the video.

I can imagine politicians from China, Koreas and so on having protested against Japan's ongoing use of the rising sun flag for their naval force, but I've never heard of any of it, which either means that European media don't care about it (which I doubt, they dig up a lot of other crap all the time) or that these protests never happened, or happened long enough ago to be forgotten again.

All I see are usernames so had no idea where you lived. I wasn't assuming you were from the US though...as many on this forum aren't even from the US lol. I was only stating what I knew in regards to textbooks discussing the topic.

Lol at least your books sacrificed images for text on the topic. I think ours just had one tiny tiny paragraph about it and then had to do own research and then learned more in Uni.

Very true. And tv, for example, has much more sexualised content than games and noone cares to cencor it...

Anyway I'm hoping that after this vid they bring in more wacky visuals for panic station in time for the stadium tour

Oooh yes! I'd like to see them in their video clothes on stage too :)

Yeah well most of the realistic stuff doesn't get sold by rating to anyone younger than teens so that's less of an issue.

Oops, it sounded like it. :chuckle:

Ah that makes sense then!

Well, it's not my field of interest, by far. I picked up what we learned in school mostly, and through general reading of magazines that cover history, science and almost anything else, but it's nothing that interests me enough to ever want to study it.

For me history=important to know about to avoid mistakes/know stuff, but then history is also dead, because it's in the past, and cannot be altered. It's a bunch of information for me which just is... meh. Mildly interesting, sometimes. Cath would disagree very much, I think :chuckle:

Hope they get the re-done video online again soon! Poor guys with a possible night shift ahead... and wonder what they'll put in place of that?

Oh it just dawned on me at the scene where Matt leans against the wall before the golden person comes, haven't we seen this before?

I feel silly for not noticing earlier now but I somehow thought this was a really old picture and never made the connection! Ha, we had a sneak peek since October and never knew!

(Oh and sorry if this has been posted already)

Oh we knew! We just had to wait a really fucking long time.

Oh, and we probably didn't notice there was another dressed up person in the shot, because... well...
