StrikeBass
Not sure if this was already posted, whatever... i've been thinking about this for a long time, I think it'd be a masterpiece. Just think to Eraser by Thom Yorke (and he stated that his solo album didn't mean "splitting up with the band" at all): it's great (at least imho). On the wake of Thom I think it would be awesome. What do you think?
Solstice
Depends what sort of music it'd be, I'd be all for a film soundtrack or something, but I can't imagine enjoying a whole album worth of madness. I'll reserve my judgement until I've heard his songs, but I think Chris is more likely to do a solo album in the near future, and I'd probably enjoy it more tbh. Travisx2112
I would not be surprised in the least to see him doing composing for films. As per the origional question though, no; it's just not the same without Chris and Dom.

Gareeh
it'd be nice because then he wouldnt stuff all that cheese into Muse You kidding? It would get worse. Look at Lennon's solo career and the Beatles, Phil Collins and Genesis etc... It fuels ego and an idea they can translate their solo stuff into the band
StrikeBass
I can't understand how a music genius like Matt could do something bad solo... But afterall it's opinions A soundtrack for a film would be great... Alex turner did well with submarine

Travis III
Could be good. For some reason I see him doing an orchestral/chamber pop record with a bit of electronica, but it'd probably end up being like an even more bombastic and ridiculous version of The Resistance. He seemed to pile all his electronic songs/ideas into The Eraser, and then In Rainbows mostly consisted of rock songs, and it was the best Radiohead album in a long time. diamond_writer
Mmm... no. Without Dom and Chris to reign him in, it'd be haywire.
Rusty Shackleford
3 members of Radiohead have solo albums...so if Radiohead can do it so can Muse right? Matt can be Thom, Chris can be Jonny and score movies. And Dom will be Phil...but with hair.
Man_In_Showbiz
If it was a big metal symphonic movie score type album then definately!

darksky
I'd also prefer a solo album by chris. But Matt could do a soundtrack, no doubt. And both would be great I think. But I'm not sure, I think I'd prefer if they keep on doing their stuff together, as Muse.
FingerFud
I wouldn't want to see Matt as a solo artist as a side project but rather the guitarist for another band as a side project. He'd be absolutely epic!
Peter.
as many people said, I'd love to see him write soundtracks for movies or games. for a side project, it'd be nice to hear more fully symphonic pieces from him. a piano concerto maybe:supersad:
