Jobby
Oh. My mistake then. I'm not saying it's a mistake or that you're wrong or anything, I was just surprised that you'd never seen the comparison before!
Furygirl
It's not my favorite, but I like it better than Madness anyway.
Morgan.
Heard it for the first time in ages today... I enjoyed it. Yeah, it's cheesy and overly melodramatic and derivative of "Vienna" by Ultravox but... I'm a sucker for the guitar and synths. It's mainly the tone, I guess. The vocals are nice as well, and it builds up into a pretty decent, dramatic climax. It's still not something I would listen to very often, but as for it being the worst Muse song ever like everyone seems to claim...nah. This is how I feel about it. Cllelf
It is a decent song, on the album, but Matt ruined it live.
Man_In_Showbiz
After a fairly bog standard start to the album, when the drums kick in you think 'finally, the album is getting somewhere' but it never really does much for me. Ok the song up until and during the short solo is decent but after that it just wanderes along at a terrible pace. It was very decent live when I saw it. I can easily listen to the song but would skip it more than i would listen to it whole.
Guest bellamylookalike
I like to pretend it never happened. Like soldiers poem, nsc, invincible, the resistance album Never seen that Ultravox point before, but it's spot on. Is the beat the exact same? Exogenesisman
I've never understood why more musers don't love this song. Its got awesome vocals from Matt, HUGE guitar solo, big powerful yet steady bass and a very cool and simple sustained drum beat. The only negative I can gather is that it is kind of 80's cheese with the 80's synth and lyrics combo but I love the whole thing. I don't have any problem with the lyrics given that their sung in a very cool way. I'd put it below all three Exo's, Resistance and Unnatural Selection on the album. Maybe even with MK Ultra. GL is not so much underrated as it is an overly hated song.
DrummingSpain
The reason its hated so much is we've come to expect so much more from such a great band. In comparison to the majority its weak, un-tuneful and sounds awful. If I HAD to listen to it - fine, but I almost always skip it. Looking back, I wonder what the 3 lads think of it now? Reckon they're thinking "yeah, bit of a mistake that one...":$
Man_In_Showbiz
Gave it a listen yesterday and to be fair to the song...it is 'ok' until the guitar solo finishes and then it's just a slow and painful end to the song.

ToMuseInOdessaListener
Remarkable song if saying about music part in it. Lyrics are too complicated for me (who have not spoken English fluently) or not enough to compare with any magnificent in this fantastic world. Love it! The vocals are quite nice though.
AstraeaLunaAvani
This may be a stupid question, but why is everyone so down on the synth in this song when they use keyboards for a lot of their other songs too? This is my favorite Muse song and I'm just in shock here LOL

Bashing it for being done terribly adnd being a combination of terrible cheese and blandness.

I couldn't get through 5 seconds once he started singing. I can't imagine ANYONE covering Muse and making an improvement, on ANY song. Matt's voice is too big a reason why I love them.
