forevermusic
Shit. I fear for Muse, then. It depends how many turn up but I've seen numbers of up to 1000 mentioned, with people that turned up 90 minutes before the cut-off not being allowed in. I get the impression turning up ridiculously early is your best bet.

forevermusic
If only I had tickets/I could go/I didn't live in italy. That always helps. I could go and live an hour from London, but my main worry is that actually getting a ticket, given my luck with iTunes Festival is non-existant. Not that the fact getting a ticket for the busier shows no longer seems a guarantee is helpful.
dan.
I'm not that familiar with iTunes Fest, other than applying through the iTunes competition itself what other ways are there for people to get tickets?

AlecSp
Yup, experienced the Killers letdown earlier in the week. My daughter's friend had tickets but couldn't go, and so passed them on. One hyperexcited 14 year old, plus a pretty happy dad. Got to the front of the queue and they wouldn't let us in without photo ID matching the registered ticket name. And it was a close look at the ID and the holder too! Gutted as, despite the statement requiring photo ID on the tickets, they've never wanted to see it in previous years for the 4-5 tickets I've had. They say they're stamping on the ebay trade (of which I approve - and I saw plenty of iTunes tickets being sold). They were unbending and said to join the standby queue as they typically let in 200-250 people that way each night. 45 mins later, the standby queue are all told to go, as they're not going to get in. At that point, there were still plenty of folk with tickets in the main queue and it was clear that they were juggling numbers as they filled up. So, yes, ticket holders were sent away. But, key to this, is don't bother buying an iTunes ticket from eBay, and you can't even share them between friends. If you're lucky enough to get a ticket *please* make sure you take photo ID. ianjhicks
I too had tickets for the Killers, queued for an hour and half was told that capacity was reached and couldn't get in. I complained to iTunes and have been given 2 fast track guest passes to MUSE! So happy you couldnt believe

leetroot
Crikey MuseMu only has 150 pairs of tickets. Where on earth are all the other competitions to get them?

AlecSp
I have always assumed that the bulk of the tickets go through the main iTunes ballot process, with the odd pockets like muse.mu to specific compeititons/draws/giveaways. The number of regular ticket "winners" would seem to bear that out.
ianjhicks
Guys and Girls, also be aware that even if you get tickets, iTunes allocate over the venue capacity as they expect some not to turn up. This caused the problems experienced at The Killers gig this week and according to the girl I spoke to at the Roundhouse it happened for the Foos, Coldplay and Adele last year. It will definitely happen for Muse so make sure you get there to queue nice and early.

They could simply allocate the correct number of tickets and if people don't show up, let those who were unlucky a chance to get inside once the gig has started (that's what happened at the Casino de Paris gig)

leetroot
There is no mention of not getting in, in the competition rules etc unless you don't get there by 8 o'clock so that's really not on. Bit bloody rubbish to turn people away - especially since not all ticket winners are able to spend the afternoon in London.
leetroot
Wish they'd get on and announce the winners for this. I need to know if I'm not going (The offer of a swap for a standing ticket for Friday at the O2 still stands if someone wants to take me as a plus one!)
