-FutureStar-
If you haven't heard about Synesthesia, check out Wikipedia. You might have it! When I listen to music I imagine colours. It's not a concious thing I do. All Muse songs have a colour: Stockholm Syndrome is dark blue, Exo-Politics is green, Starlight is orangey, City Of Delusion is brown etc. I also imagine instruments to have different colours and intensities so I decided to try and draw out a Muse song using this idea. It was very hard to switch between colours very quickly so it's a bit messy... but you get the idea. I listened to the music video version of Sing For Absolution so extra noises made their way into this picture. If you can spot any song segments, let me know! This will probably just look like a load of scribbles to most of you...
Jobby
I've got it, it's quite cool for some reason From what I remember: Micro Cuts - Dark red Take A Bow - Green Citizen Erased - Yellow Showbiz - Dark blue Hoodoo - Brown Map Of The Problematique - Lime/Yellow-y green Can't remember any more, I'll have to give a few songs a listen and remember which colour they are. Lyssapire
I think I may have it.. listening to Fury... the bass part is dark red, Matt's guitar bright orange and yellow... and also, I don't hear colors, but I see sounds, so I couldn't really spot much song except for maybe the purple and blue scribbles being Unintended? That's about the color Unintended is for me... For the most part though, the images get combined with ice skating programs I sometimes think up. I have to try to ignore the skater part of my brain. I tried to draw New Born in photoshop, a link if you want to see http://www.max-dan-wiz.com/profiles/blogs/synthensesia

Bumpypotato
I have it To use Jobby's examples: Micro Cuts is very pale, whispy green, but gets sort of bluey/creamy in the chorus Take a Bow is also green (synth tends to be blue or green to me) Citizen Erased is a greenish colour, similar to Micro Cuts but stronger Showbiz is an orangy colour Hoodoo is brown, but the guitar has a light blue tinge Map of the Problematique is a mid green
JessicaSarahS
I have Synesthesia too. I find it weird that some people can see an entire song as a single color. I see a different color with each change in music! I also have Gustatory Synesthesia and that makes for even more fun.
DifferentPerson
I think I have a form of this. I don't really see detailed patterns like the OP, just some vague shapes associated with different instruments. Bass lines are usually dark and fuzzy/blobby shapes, while guitar riffs are clearer and sharper shapes (the colours depending on the song). Piano parts like the New Born intro or Apocalypse Please are pale/white. Strings look sort of like a white Aurora Borealis Some of my examples: New Born - white piano intro, riff is a dark muddy colour Bliss - sort of a pinkish colour throughout Space Dementia - the opening piano notes look like small ripples on a lake then the rest of the song is like a violent stormy night the ending is a dark green. Hyper Music - Guitar riff is yellow, looks awesome alongside the dark bass line Plug In Baby - Main riff is pinkish while the chorus is a darker colour Citizen Erased - Mainly a yellow colour but the ending is pale blue Micro Cuts - Mostly a creamy colour but the chorus is black and spiky ...you probably get the idea by now I think some of them are influenced by a combination of album covers and live visuals as well as how I see the letters that make up their names. Also songs that I listen to more often tend to have more defined shapes and colours. Does anyone else associate numbers and letters with colours too? kueller
I associate colors and other things with stuff. Is this an actual extensive thing to have? I thought mental associations just kinda happened to everyone.

I don't see songs in a single colour, but there's generally a specific theme they follow, and I'm too lazy to go in depth about it, hence calling everything blue, and oh my god my grammar is atrocious. God, doesn't that get annoying? I associate colors and other things with stuff. Is this an actual extensive thing to have? I thought mental associations just kinda happened to everyone. It's quite common, but no, not everyone has it.
