JoshyBarth
I dont notice the difference really between MP3 and Wav usually. Obviously for coursework I used WAV but normally MP3 is way more manageable. Thats where the habit has come from - Using WAV in my coursework for the past two years... I think I've managed it now though
Dominic.
For shits and giggles I made a 1200kbps audio file for an assignment once. Made some of the MIDI instruments sound much worse

Dominic.
Oh and LArry, pollwise remember to make it 1 vote each and secret, but public votes, if that makes sense, so you can see who's voted for who, but results are kept secret

IntelligentAl
Kind of tempted to do a legit cover for the next round. Just to clarify, its ok to do multiple takes as long as its for a purpose and not just to cover up a mistake?.

Dominic.
Ideally one live take would be best, or is that just me?

Dominic.
Live is better but sometimes being a Hindu god just isn't an option Eh? So you're saying sometimes the only option is to do more takes to layer up the sound rather than just one take?
Dave.
Eh? So you're saying sometimes the only option is to do more takes to layer up the sound rather than just one take? No? I thought we were talking about multiple instruments
Lord MFC
Eh? So you're saying sometimes the only option is to do more takes to layer up the sound rather than just one take? He's referring to having 8 arms/doing complicated guitar parts.
Will_
To be honest I think it should be Multiple instruments - Fine Multiple parts - Fine Only to layer - nono Because it's hard - nono To cover up mistakes - nowai

We've talked before about multiple parts and I see no reason why not. Instruments even more so, show off your skills at different shit! Layering just seems a bit unnecessary if I'm honest if we're trying to do a live one take cover of sorts

IntelligentAl
See I only ask because as much as I understand the whole 'lolol one take like I'm bellorz' thing, I'm not really planning on doing anything live muse-esque. I don't really want to give too much away, but I'm more going down the route of covering a song with lots of guitars doing lots of different things all at once. Think Brian May. Not really the kind of thing you can do in one take. But I dunno, if people are gonna be anal about the rules then I might just not bother.
