Furygirl Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Well no wonder the reviewer seems disappointed in Muse; they're not a prog band. I was disappointed in the grammatical and spelling errors.
Pip Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 I was disappointed in the grammatical and spelling errors. Ouch, yes. They lost me at 'definately'.
FabriPav Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 for example, ‘Hyper Music’ is frankly hyper-irritating While, speaking of BH&R: but here the sound is polished and refined to perfection, and While there isn’t any ‘filler’ work here,

Dave. Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 A very interesting read. Its funny to see similarities between what the review said and what a lot on here say
sade Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I actually agree with quite a bit of what the reviewer says, although it's easy to see why his opinions annoy board members here. Not commenting on the prog aspect, as I know jack about prog, but general comments. Muscle Museum is the clear best song off Showbiz, Citizen Erased is (among) their very best songs, Hyper Music is annoying (and bizarrely overrated), Absolution's first half is superior to the latter, BH&R, all things considered, just might be their best album. Not a filler-free album though. But I disagree with his picks for the best songs off The Resistance. And I would give more credit to OOS overall. My opinion, etc.
Glaedr Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 'and the occasional whimper from Bellamy' ahhh that was an amusing read
Bumpypotato Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 the only thing that really comes to mind is a big fat lol.
Dee3Dee Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Lol. He calls Resistance a good song. It would be if it wasn't for that disgusting "It could be wrong" part.
supernova13 Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 What is this shit My thoughts exactly. "Origin of Symmetry is their second best album, with BH&R being on top." or something like that. I was like, "How?"
Seaking Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 It would be if it wasn't for that disgusting "It could be wrong" part. I should have been more clear. He said that Resistance is one of two songs that are good off of TR (the other being USoE). I found it funny that he ranked Resistance over some other songs... It's not a bad song. It's just mediocre-ish.
kevmamen96 Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 My thoughts exactly. "Origin of Symmetry is their second best album, with BH&R being on top." or something like that. I was like, "How?" I pretty much agree though . Although there is a lot with the article I disagree with, I honestly think Black Holes & Revelations is the best and most definitive Muse album with Origin of Symmetry coming in at a close second.
Hat Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 My thoughts exactly. "Origin of Symmetry is their second best album, with BH&R being on top." or something like that. I was like, "How?" Maybe he just really liked BH&R
Jobby Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Depends what you're in to. I can see people preferring BHAR to OOS just as easily as I can see someone preferring Showbiz to OOS. This guy obviously loves prog music so it'd make sense that he'd like BHAR the most. I didn't like the way he seemed to just dismiss the symphony though. Granted, he's right about the fact that it's barely a symphony but it does progress.
Dominic. Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 My thoughts exactly. "Origin of Symmetry is their second best album, with BH&R being on top." or something like that. I was like, "How?" BH&R is quality! Personally I'd put OoS first though, but they're both good
Bumpypotato Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 It would be if it wasn't for that disgusting "It could be wrong" part. and that could have sounded good if the lyrics weren't garbage.
Bumpypotato Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 BH&R is quality! Personally I'd put OoS first though, but they're both good It used to be my favorite, and I still think it's amazing, but as an album Oos works much better.
HannahG123 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Personally BH&R is the best album but absolution is my favourite
Seaking Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Personally BH&R is the best album but absolution is my favourite How does that make any sense?
