WELL..I do not really like Dubstep, but I have heard some songs Skrillex and is not as bad, just that .... I fell in love with these three men sloppy onstage in 2000, I fell in love with his style of music magic. And now, suddenly made Dubstep music ... I can hardly believe it, is difficult. We can only wait until they launch any song ... I want to believe that the music of the trailer is just a promotional track ... ANYWAY ... IF MUSE MAKES DUBSTEP, I'M SURE IT WILL BE THE BEST DUBSTEP THE UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with dubstep (for me) it's either really good or really bad. And knowing Muse, it's going to be (hopefully) really good. Also, with the preview, it isn't quite the dubstep we are used to. They're actually using instruments where people like Skrillex use their laptops. Plus, Matt's been doing stuff like that live for a while now. I think we call it dubstep because it's the closest thing to compare it to.

Please tell me you aren't for real.

I'd be willing to discuss Muse making Dubstep the minute they actually do.

I agree with the potato, it really doesn't. Skrillex is just a lot of overdone synth/wub samples. It's too much to listen to.

I think the problem is that it's just clumsy and formulaic. I mean, one of my favourite albums ever is Year Zero- composed largely on a laptop and with massive programmed beats and warped synths as a defining characteristic- the difference is that its styles vary hugely and it doesn't rely on bass drops. That's my main problem with Shikari's use of dubstep- their dubstep parts are simply stand-ins for regular metal breakdowns.

And, oh yeah, :stunned: [8]- did anyone understand that post?

The main difference between Year Zero and Shikari is that Trent was creating original music and not trying to fit it in any particular style, and Shikari are essentially copying two different styles and playing them at the same time.

embracing dubstep my ass.

The robot voice may sound quite weird but I didn't hear any dubstep in the trailer. It's pure massive Muse pedalboard use.

I remember once reading that Chris wanted to write a few songs, and in compliance with Dom, try to make some rock riff. I'm not concerned at all, less than ever about dubstep whatsoever, I'm just expecting a great work.

Dubstep/House/Trance/Garage/etc all sound the same to me. It's really not my bag and I'm not exactly thrilled they're choosing to go in this direction.

Having said that, I'm not a lover of R'n'B either and yet I really like SMBH and UD.

I'll remain cautiously optimistic....

Oh my. A poll has been added! :3

Yes its most definitely dubstep. If you want to be anal about it, then brostep. But like I said in the other thread, brostep is just a heavy as fuck dubstep just as, say, thrash metal like Metallica is much heavier than classic/heavy metal like Iron Maiden. I dont see people arguing that Metallica isnt a metal band.
