You.Make.Me.Sick Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 1. What instrument do you play? 2. What is your favorite Muse song to play on that instrument and why? 3. Does that happen to be your favorite Muse song in general? Just curious to hear other poeple's opinions. I play drums and my favorite song to play is Apocalypse Please, but it's probably not my favorite Muse song.
Rawglor Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 1. Guitar. 2. Starlight, because it is my favorite Muse song. 3. Yes.
kueller Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 1. Guitar, piano, trumpet 2. Guitar - New Born or CE Piano - B&H Trumpet - CoD I guess? I don't play much Muse on that 3. B&H and CE are my favorite songs.

Spectrum IV Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Piano: Space Dementia. It's fkn hard, but the long build-up before going apeshit in the ending never gets old. Vocals: Probably Showbiz, or Plug In Baby. Falsetto is fun. None of these are my favourite song though.
Lord MFC Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 1. Guitar, Piano etc 2. New Born probably, working on an arrangement for it, or Stockholm. 3. No, Citizen Erased
Will_ Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 1. Guitarguitarguitar, can sing too though 2. Stockholm I think... with the riffs at the end ofc. Or Showbiz, adore that. 3. ... Yeah. edit: OH JAMIE, you reminded me of CE Love playing that too.

I play drums and my favorite song to play is Apocalypse Please, but it's probably not my favorite Muse song. 1. Piano / bass /guitar 2. Butterflies and Hurricanes (rythm, solo) / Hysteria (obvious reasons) / - 3. No / no / -
randomparrot Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 1. Guitar 2. I really like playing the intro to Bliss, just sounds so nice on guitar but I'd say as a whole New Born just because I love the song so much and It's it good fun to play 3. Yes
Jobby Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 1 - Guitar is my main instrument but I also do some piano and vocals 2 - I don't have just one. My favourites to play on guitar are probably New Born, Hyper Music and either Supermassive or Knights. On piano - Citizen Erased's outro and Space Dementia and for vocals - TIRO and maybe Dark Shines. 3 - No, my favourite song is Muscle Museum and, although it is fun to play, I just get more enjoyment out of playing the others.
kueller Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 3 - No, my favourite song is Muscle Museum and, although it is fun to play, I just get more enjoyment out of playing the others. I know the others would still probably be more fun but have you tried hodyou7be's solo version?
Stewez26 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Late to the party, but oh well. 1 - Bass 2- Helsinki Jam (if that counts), Easily, Hyper Music. 3- Nope.
Jobby Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I know the others would still probably be more fun but have you tried hodyou7be's solo version? Yeah, I'll usually play of solo that follows the vocal melody during the outro. Muscle Museum's just a bit too straight forward for me, a bit 'linear' as it were, I prefer songs like Supermassive and The Groove because they offer more room for improv.

There's a fair bit of space for improv in MM...
Solstice Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 There's a fair bit of space for improv in MM... During the verses there's a fair bit yeah, the solo as well.
Jobby Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 There's a fair bit of space for improv in MM... I know, and I do use that space, but not as much as the songs I listed - for my forms of improv anyway. Plus, MM doesn't really inspire me to do much improv or have fun with it when I play it apart from the outro.
You.Make.Me.Sick Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Late to the party, but oh well. 1 - Bass 2- Helsink Jam (if that counts), Easily, Hyper Music. 3- Nope. Helsinki's so much fun to play on drums. So yes, it counts
Cyndris Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 1. Guitar. I can drum a bit too, but that's mainly just for teh lolz. 2. New Born(riff+solo), Stockholm Syndrome(Riff + just going crazy), Invincible(solo), Exo-politics(dunno why, it's just fun). 3. SS & NB are definitely in my top 5, Invincible not so much though.
Will_ Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 The Groove is always fun I've never actually played the Groove
