Tyger16
This version of stockholm has a different tone from almost every other version. He appears to be using the internal fuzz probe but what else is going on in the signal? Also, during the solo, how does he get that really long phaser effect? And what wah effect has added on for the riff?
kueller
If you mean that long phased effect on the buildup to the solo, I'm sure that's a backing track. For the rest I've actually wondered myself
IntelligentAl
I haven't watched the video, but I would assume that phaser sound would just be the phaser, or possibly a flanger. Is it the Earls Court one we're talking about here?
tomrulez
It does actually sound like he has the wah probe on through-out.
james90
It's a wah probe that's built into that guitar, and he probably has it on for most of the song. The bit during the solo actually sounds separate from the guitar, but I don't know
Lexical_Whale
It's a wah probe that's built into that guitar, and he probably has it on for most of the song. He's only really using it on the main intro riff and the breakdown. You see (and hear) him switch it off around the 1m mark when he hits that bend and back on somewhere around 3:56-57. Notice the difference in sound between the intro riff/breakdown and the riff going into the second verse where he doesn't switch it on.
AaronM1D1
I'd put it down to a phaser
Banksy.
Pretty sure the 'phasing effect' is actually a flanger, although I'm probably wrong.
Bs
The combination of phase and fuzz often gives a flanger type sound so it is probably the inbuilt circuits most likely - fuzz factory, phase 90, and wah probe combining.
Lord MFC
The Wah Probe gets switched off in the verse and chorus, it's be more muffled.
musecasters
The Wah Probe gets switched off in the verse and chorus, it's be more muffled. he switches it off before he sings. there is no internal phaser on this guitar :-)
Bs
No internal phaser on Blackie? Are you sure? In an interview with Guitar Player (July 2010) magazine, Matt explained that he does not use this guitar live very much due to it's weight and the fact that it's much louder than his other guitars. "The one I used the most on The Resistance is called “Black Ed.” It has a really amazing tone, but it’s extremely heavy, and it’s also louder than all of my other guitars, so it doesn’t quite work for performing live. It has a few gizmos in it, as well—a Z.Vex Wah Probe, a Z.Vex Fuzz Factory, and an MXR Phase 90."

Dramatic Hammer
it's obviously his whammy Not a twisty chaos pad?
Lexical_Whale
it's obviously his whammy It's actually 2 of them. One an octave up, the other an octave down. He also has another 2 in case they decide to play the song twice.
cheddatom
The whammies are built into the guitar which is why some people mistake them for a twisty chaos pad, but it's the whammies alright. I didn't know he packed spares in case they had to repeat the song but it makes perfect sense.
Mobius
The phase may be from the Mod Pro rack? Only cause the phase sound similar to earlier clips where he used the Laser bomber which didn't have a Phase90 iirc?

Dominic.
It MUST have a phase 90 because MuseWiki says so http://musewiki.org/Manson_007 and it's not like Wikis ever lie
