doribellamy
If someone knows, which of their songs' official video was the most expensive to shoot, tell me, please!!

FabriPav
I have no official information, but I'd say Knights of Cydonia
Seaking
I could picture KoC but it was filmed in the middle of nowhere to save money. Possibly Starlight (Renting a ship for a day can't come cheap) UD (Lots of shit going on so you never know) Although Dead Star wins with its 50 Pounds. Complete guesswork btw

Complete guesswork btw Knights was a long video with quite a few extras and professional actors in it though. Add that on to costume and prop expenses and you're looking at quite a lot. zomuse
I would've thought filming in the middle of nowhere (Romania I think?) would cost more.
Nipso
Uprising can't have been cheap either

Complete guesswork btw KOC was filmed in Romania and apparently costed quite a bit. The ship on the Starlight video was actually rented for free. A girl who was a massive fan convinced her dad (who owned the ship) to give it to Muse for free for the day. UD wouldn't have costed much, Tom Kirk directed it and it was just filmed in a London studio. I'd say either KOC would easily cost the most. doribellamy
Thanks for your reaction! Yeah, I'm hesitating between Knights of Cydonia and Sing For Absolution. :/ But which was more expensive? I hope someone knows a source... 'cause it's really important for me 'cause I need the answer for a competition which was made by my friends.

Sing for Absolution is only computer made, and there weren't external actors involved, no troupe, no costumes, etc.

kueller
Sing for Absolution depending on how much those graphics cost. Also in context I know Muscle Museum was a bit more than the band wanted to pay for.

Mechagodzilla
Between those two, I'd say KoC al the way. Sing for Absolution is only computer made, and there weren't external actors involved, no troupe, no costumes, etc. *Only computer made* is putting it waaaay too lightly. There may not have been actors but to make that video you would have needed a team of artists to first design EVERYTHING you see in the video on paper, and those to model those designs using CGI software (Which takes a lot of work). Then you'd need animators to bring the story to life so to speak. Muse's roles would have to be filmed (The band are the only "real" element in the video, and they do wear a costume, even if it is only a fabric hood to make them look like they're really wearing those spacesuits.) and at least one person who can edit their faces into the video. Saying that, there's probably a load of other things that went behind that video that I don't know about as well!

FabriPav
Kinda like Avatar, yeah? Probably, yeah. But there's something that makes me think that Avatar required a little more money and work than Sing for Absolution promo
FabriPav
and they do wear a costume, even if it is only a fabric hood to make them look like they're really wearing those spacesuits There were no costumes, those suits were computer-made too. Btw, I'm not saying that SfA cost nothing, I just think that KoC did cost more, since Muse had to hire an entire troupe.
