AbbiJoy78 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Hi. I have a question: The version of KOC (live) that appears on the compilation CD "Green Owl Comp: A Benefit For Energy Action Coalition"...is that the same as the one that appears on "HAARP"? The running time of the song is different so I guess not, but then can someone tell me where does this live version come from (when?) and does it appear on any of MUSE's official CDs, or ONLY on this comp CD? Thanks!!!
Jobby Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Wembley Arena 2006. No it hasn't featured on any official Muse releases. EDIT: Also, I've just listened to it, it sounds nothing like the one on H.A.A.R.P.
MuseTheMuscleMuseum Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 In case you haven't heard it, KoC live from Fuji Rock is probably the best live performance of that song I've ever heard.
AbbiJoy78 Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 Thanks to both of you! Well, i feel like an idiot for admitting this, but HAARP is one thing I don't own (yet)! So that explains why I didn't know if it was the same. Also, how do I get to hear the Fuji Rock version? Where can I get it?
Hat Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Also, how do I get to hear the Fuji Rock version? Where can I get it? Youtube.

ExogenesisP1 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 In case you haven't heard it, KoC live from Fuji Rock is probably the best live performance of that song I've ever heard. Absolutely. Best ever. Even better than the Wembley 07 version.
MartinSM Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Nah, Reading 06 for me. The vocals are a bit naff, but the sound recording in general seems a bit flat so that might have something to do with it. Fuji is the best in terms of vocals, but nothing beats Reading for the sheer energy and power.
Hat Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 Absolutely. Best ever. Even better than the Wembley 07 version. I didn't know Wembley 07 was even considered very good.
Jobby Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I didn't know Wembley 07 was even considered very good. It's not, Matt's vocals are what brings it down mostly. You can tell he was ill that day.
Nipso Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 V Festival? Completely tears to shreds any other performance of it that I've seen.
kueller Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 V Festival? Completely tears to shreds any other performance of it that I've seen. I agree.
MuseTheMuscleMuseum Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 V Festival? Completely tears to shreds any other performance of it that I've seen. I just checked it out...impressive performance but definitely not as impressive as Fuji Rock for me. Dom's drums in the Fuji Rock version just completely blows away all other versions.
MartinSM Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Overall I preffer V Fest over Fuji, it's a bit more energetic, and I always found Matt spinning round pretty funny. Got to love the sparks as well. Fuji is great for vocals and the drums sound brilliant, but it doesn't seem to have quite as much energy during the outro. It's at the upper end of KoC performances, but I still think Reading 06 and V Fest are the best two. I actually quite like the one on HAARP.

Only reason to consider HAARP one great is the setting around it.
MartinSM Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 The key word is 'quite'. Â Probably more for the atmosphere and having Dan than anything else.
FabriPav Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Fuji Rock 2010 all the way. And I can't believe people thinking that the outro somehow lacks energy.
kueller Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I finally heard Fuji Rock for myself. It was a great performance but I still can't put it above Reading or V Fest
MuseTheMuscleMuseum Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Fuji Rock 2010 all the way. And I can't believe people thinking that the outro somehow lacks energy. Â I know right...I mean every Muse show is generally fantastic but V festival just seems like a lesser performance that Fuji Rock in my opinion.
Bs Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Can someone post a link to the best video of the Fuji Rock one? I've not seen it yet, and I don't want to do it an injustice by picking a poor quality video...
Hat Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Can someone post a link to the best video of the Fuji Rock one? I've not seen it yet, and I don't want to do it an injustice by picking a poor quality video... Wouldn't you notice if the quality was bad quite fast? You can also search for HD videos. Or in this case, just search for "Muse Fuji Knights", since there aren't really any other proshot videos uploaded that are popular. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAyrPurTh-I
MartinSM Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Fuji Rock 2010 all the way. And I can't believe people thinking that the outro somehow lacks energy. It doesn't lack energy, it just has less than V Fest and Reading.
Jobby Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 S'all about the Reading '06. Matt's vocals for the earlier performances of Knights weren't particularly great though
shiroo Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I think the V version is pretty normal, The Fuji is amazing, Haarp same, and the Reading 06 starts kinda funny, cause of the early vocals but the outro is excelent although this is not a live version i like this i would love it if Haarp or Fuji had the same outro. i cant decide which version is the best
