Xvm27 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I remember seeing an interview somewhere where Matt said there would only be like two or three songs they would still feel comfortable playing from their first album because their style has changed so much since then. What do you think those songs from Showbiz might be?
Zolic Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 if it's Showbizhe actually means then it's probably Sunburn, Unintended, and then probably Cave or maybe MM (if you believe he actually didn't lose the pedal on purpose)
Jazzthief Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Could someone please explain me the MM pedal thing?
Hat Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Well since Unintended, Sunburn and Cave are the songs that have been played during the last tour, I'm guessing it's those 3. Could someone please explain me the MM pedal thing? Matt said he couldn't play MM anymore because he lost the effects pedal for it. That's it basically.
Dockertae Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I can't really see them playing Showbiz stuff on the next tour except for Sunburn a few times maybe one other. Unless they change their general method of selecting songs to play I'm expecting a lot of gigs to only get a single song from Origin nevermind Showbiz. Â This sounds more negative than I mean it to but I can't see how they'd fit them in.
LyraSilvertongue Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Matt said he couldn't play MM anymore because he lost the effects pedal for it. That's it basically. Â Which is such a bollocks excuse. I saw a Muse tribute band play it last weekend. If they can do it, the real Muse can.

Jobby Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Honestly, we'll be very lucky to get anything other than possibly Sunburn next tour. Unintended maybe. Cave is definitely gone. If Matt's said they might play some Showbiz songs, he's trolling.
kueller Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Unintended and Sunburn are the only possibilities. Other than that they pretty much dropped Showbiz entirely. I'd say OoS songs are more likely considering what Chris has said about Darkshines and whatnot, but it's still highly unlikely.
Finn. Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Matt said he couldn't play MM anymore because he lost the effects pedal for it. That's it basically. Is a great excuse. When the teacher ask for the homeworks the kids could respond: No, I lost the pedal that make the homeworks!
Hat Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Is a great excuse. When the teacher ask for the homeworks the kids could respond: No, I lost the pedal that make the homeworks! ...right.
Seaking Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Is a great excuse. When the teacher ask for the homeworks the kids could respond: No, I lost the pedal that make the homeworks! The sad thing is that it would be as credible as Matt's excuse
MuseHolic111 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Which is such a bollocks excuse. I saw a Muse tribute band play it last weekend. If they can do it, the real Muse can. Absolutely right!
Princess of Promise Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I can only see Unintended and Sunburn as the only choices left. Everything else is just "nevermind them".
MartinSM Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 The tragic thing is, Showbiz would still work perfectly in their set. I think we'll be lucky to get even Sunburn. Uninteded as the opener of the first encore at half the stadium gigs is the most I'm expecting.
Jobby Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 They brought back Muscle Museum for one or two gigs in 2007 because Tom told them it was his favourite song... Please God Tom remind them of this.
yoman297 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 ^Escape is one of Chris's favorite songs, I'm sure they're never going to play that again.
Jobby Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 ^Escape is one of Chris's favorite songs, I'm sure they're never going to play that again. I think Escape is one of Chris' favourite studio songs. I don't think any of them have liked it live since the Showbiz tours. Whereas, when they played MM for Tom, they said they enjoyed it but stopped playing it again because it was unrehearsed and sounded "rusty" (even though it actually sounded pretty good). Believe me I don't think it'll happen, but there's hope
LyraSilvertongue Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Why's everyone so sure Cave is gone forever? They played it two or three times on the last tour.
Uccellino Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Why's everyone so sure Cave is gone forever? They played it two or three times on the last tour. I heard it twice on The Resistance tour. I don't mind if it's gone as long as it's replaced with Showbiz and Muscle Museum.
kueller Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Why's everyone so sure Cave is gone forever? They played it two or three times on the last tour. It was a regular at the start but it's been dropped for a while. It may come back some other time, but at the moment it's safe to assume it's out.
Jobby Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Why's everyone so sure Cave is gone forever? They played it two or three times on the last tour. I think that's exactly it. It was played only a few times in fairly quick succession then, all of a sudden, it was just gone. I think they played it at Teignmouth as a tribute, liked it and decided to play it again a few times, then Muse logic kicked in and they thought people would enjoy another song more.
Zolic Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Why's everyone so sure Cave is gone forever? They played it two or three times on the last tour. It was played about 20 times between september 2009 and januari 2010
