Lord MFC
Edit: I think maybe New Born should be a definite. It's good fro guitar & piano, and I'm really getting some nice ideas out of it atm.

Will_
I think Butterflies and Hurricanes is fairer... you can have both throughout the whole song.

Cyndris
Cant stand B&H. I used to like it, but now, Plug in Baby can be added to the list. +1 I really dont like it anymore the way I used to. I don't really feel like playing it, it's kinda boring...
matthijs
New Born isn't that good for piano, except for the intro. B&H is definitely better.
Dave.
Guys, if you want a song all you have to do is vote. Type out 3 songs you want to cover (please vary the difficulty) I'll be counting on friday and not after friday so get those votes in.
Liam511
Still confused about the whole multitracking situation? I would normally split any cover i did into Bass, rhythm and lead with three audio tracks and three video tracks obviously... but each track is "one take" in the sense that i hit record, play the song, listen/watch back and use it if im happy...? Lord MFC
MULTI TRACKING IS ALLOWED! Dead Star - easiest Hyper Music - hardest New Born - middle
Dave.
If you have to change instruments then multi-tracking is ok. If you use it to cover up mistakes then its not allowed.
Liam511
MULTI TRACKING IS ALLOWED! Dead Star - easiest Hyper Music - hardest New Born - middle Yeah but its been said its allowed, allowed but not really desired, allowed so long as it doesnt "cover up" anything...? Its all a bit of a mess
Bs
Hyper Music - hardest I had a think about what my 3 songs would have been last night, but I won't be participating so there's no point actually posting them. If you do another one in 2012 I'll probably be up for it though.
Liam511
Hyper music isnt hard to play, i think for me its getting it sound clean and actually like the song rather than a mess of chords and drop D spammage

Its all a bit of a mess Multitracking is allowed, and yes, it is discouraged in case of people using it as a means to cover up mistakes but as previously said it allowed if you want to play multiple instruments/parts or cannot easily change from a clean tone to a distorted tone via footswitch etc
Will_
Liam's right, this is a total mess Anyway. We have four rounds right? Dead Star - Easy Stockholm Syndrome - Medium CE - Medium/Hard Butterflies and Hurricanes (HAARP) - Hard I think the Haarp version B&H has to be a definite, really tough parts for both guitar and piano. Lord MFC
Is it still a choice of 2 each week?

Vote for 3 songs. We'll count them up and announce what the rounds will be within the next few days Multitracking is allowed for multiple instruments/parts and if you cannot easily change effects Rounds will consist of 2 song choices and will go up in difficulty as the weeks go on. We will make sure that there will be a more guitar orientated and piano orientated song in each round What is so fucking difficult to comprehend? (Not a personal dig at you Will)

(Not a personal dig at you Will) Ok in that case Dead Star, CE and B&H. I'm fine with the rules, I get all of that, it's just all the bickering and everyone trying to make up their own little rules. Lord MFC
I all fairness, I totally get it. It's not hard to comprehend, people are making a complete pig's breakfast out of this.
IntelligentAl
Why on earth would it be a definite to do the HAARP version of B&H when there is a perfectly good backing track for the studio version? Seems a bit pointless to limit everyone to having to record over Matt's existing parts...
Dominic.
Have I missed something out about this HAARP B&H? I presume people can cover it however they want, Abso version, single version, live version whatever...it's their choice, they should just do it the best they can in order to get the most votes they can As for the backing track discussions I've heard, I can understand why some people would like to use a backing track, but I'm sure playing over the actual studio version will be fine long as your instrument is audible
Will_
The only reason is suggested the HAARP B&H is because it's got the extended solo so it's a good chance to display your skills, which was what I thought this whole thing was about. Anyway, you've got my vote.
Lord MFC
The studio version has the same length solo...
