GAS Thread: it's just too expensive to drive this.

So does this mean no more beautiful things from Jim and Vintage Fenders?

Not for the moment, no :( It was a short-lived beautiful thing.

I actually really liked the Mustang, but getting used to the 22.5" scale meant playing the Manson felt like a baritone, so I need to keep my small hands used to a bigger scale...especially since the Elliott will be 25.5" too.

ok

edit:

do you still want it to sound like a tele? because it loses a bit of the tele character with that pickup

Yeah, I know, but if I'm honest, I do want it to loose some of that tele feel in the bridge position, but keep it in the neck position...

Also the bridge p'up is the only thing letting it down imho.

What bass are you wanting Crowella?

A custom like his Sakura bass I posted on the previous page. Couple of the details I wanted/been discussing:

- 2 Soapbar Nordstrand pickups

- Active electronics w/ passive push/pull pot.

- Rosewood fretboard.

- Body and neck woods undecided, looking for something that'll make it sound warm

- Chrome hardware

- That purple posted, or perhaps metallic blue, still undecided.

- 34" Scale. It was originally designed as 33" though but feel 34" is safe and home to me.

- 4 Strings. Was thinking of 6 and possible tremolo system but that's bordering wankery

This won't be until the end of the year. I have to save up for Europe in a few months and that will cost a lot. Still got the upright on the way too.
