Dave.
Yeah, why is the Big Muff so big? Is it really just a massive empty space inside? They should make a littler one. There is one, its called the little big muff, or jail bait.

Don'tPostThePear
the axe sounds pretty impressive. not sure if the fragile harmonics are getting squashed though. I think the tone from 1:02 till 1:30 was painful. Reminded me of the sound of a weak pedal OD. The Plexi and Friedman sounded quite artifical too for my ears. Lord MFC
I'd get this instead of a Manson custom any day. http://www.mansons.co.uk/shopping/brands/diezel-electric-amps/diezel/herbert/ Really raw tone that Josh Homme would be proud of. james90
how were the cleans on that? i was disappoint with the VH4 cleans and i want another fuzz pedal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xxk4QjjNYQ
JimboMansonMB-1
I was surprised too, but the Herbert actually has really nice sounds all around. Just got back from Guitar Center (again )--but I discovered the Les Paul '50s Tribute. An affordable, well-built USA Gibson Les Paul which looks nice (Goldtop) and sounds great, even with hum-canceling P90s? I think yes
james90
did this have the baked maple or that weird basswood fretboard?
Lord MFC
The cleans were excellent, really rich with no problems of distortion when hitting hard, which I have with my DSL 401... Really all round amazing amp.
JimboMansonMB-1
did this have the baked maple or that weird basswood fretboard? Nah, it still had legit rosewood. My brother bought one of the SG Juniors though, which does have the baked maple fretboard. It's really light, but it doesn't sound bad...
IntelligentAl
is the 50s Tribute the one thats kinda like a Studio but with P90s and a few frills? Really liked the look of those when they came out, wanted to try one but Gibsons are so rare in guitar shops around here. Really keen on a P90 equipped guitar in general at the moment. Since finishing my Strat, I've kinda neglected all my other guitars, in fact I think I've only played the Les Paul a handful of times since, and not for very long each time because somehow it just doesnt sound as nice as the Strat. Whiiiiich is why I was thinking about getting some humbucker sized P90s to put in it, hopefully inspire me to play it a bit more. Any reccomendations on HB size P90s? And nobody say BKPs, I have no interest on spending millionz of pennies on a set of pickups

IntelligentAl
MBK-1's. No u. Will look into Wilkinson though, I have one of their humbuckers and its win. Love their stuff.
JimboMansonMB-1
The P90s were so tasty, I had myself a nice Phil X jam in the Platinum Room...then I looked over at the Firebird X and my mojo died
Lord MFC
Intelligent, Iron Gear have excellent ones, as do Seymour Duncan that you can pick up off ebay or somewhere pretty cheap.
james90
Nah, it still had legit rosewood. My brother bought one of the SG Juniors though, which does have the baked maple fretboard. It's really light, but it doesn't sound bad... yeah they're light guitars. What sort of sound does it have? I had a '68 (?) reissue from 2001 which was pretty much the same guitar. It just had the larger pickguard and soap bar P90. and it had a rosewood board of course. Why not get something and pop some MBK-1s in? I wish I still had that bridge P90 I sold to Tomexclamationpoint...or at least the specs of it so I could get a similar set made.

Nah, I meant the fretboard is really light. The guitar is, too I'm seriously thinking about that Les Paul. Wouldn't want to re-route for humbucker-sized P90s--but the Gibson ones were surprisingly nice. Could always get some soapbar BKPS though Problem: Ideally, I'd just trade my Explorer for the Les Paul. The Explorer hardly ever gets used and I don't particularly like the pickups, but it has a lot of sentimental value for being my first real electric... I'd be sad to see it go.
