hooglebug
just got to cut through the sound hole branch, inlay the branches on the backplate, and cut 1000 petals. I'm guessing at 1000, i'll just cut till I don't need anymore. shit, then theres the fretboard and headstock. i'd forgot about them

hooglebug
I've just had these bits of wood for ages so thought id do it. its about 70mm thick, hollow. I'm undecided about an archtop type bridge and tailpiece or just a normal bridge. I think it might be too small for a tailpiece to look good. hooglebug
I doodled where the flowers/petals would be on the back last night and did a rough count and theres about 450-500 on the back. so based on that there'll be about about the same again on the headstock, which is pushing it closer to 2000 pieces. 2000!!!!!!!!!!!! shit. Jaicen
Great work as always. Two questions: 1) what does the Kanji mean 2) how heavy do you think it will be? Still quite a lot of wood even with the hollow centre.
hooglebug
its sakura which is cherry blossom. and its gonna be a fair bit lighter than a normal one. its a lot thicker but obviously hollow. the backs only 5mm thick so that takes some weight off too

hooglebug
same as it was before. I've been cutting flowers, then I had flu for a few days, a cold/cough for a week, so just getting back to stuff. I've got the fretboard ready for radiusing then inlay. I want to get as much inlay on the front and back done as I can before sticking it all together
