alyssa_ Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Figured this needed to be created since we've got one for drums and guitar. I've been looking at covers for Easily and no one seems to get that one right...
Larry. Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Figured this needed to be created since we've got one for drums and guitar. I've been looking at covers for Easily and no one seems to get that one right... Hysteria Edit: Darkshines
Nitt Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Imo Futurism is pretty damn hard to get right.. Now I'm not sure if it's actually the hardest since I haven't learned all muse songs ..... yet
Dave. Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I'm learning Helsinki jam now and I think its fairly hard. I learnt futurism in half an hour, not that hard but still hard
Lord MFC Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Edit: Darkshines Aha! I was gonna say that... We have inside knowledge
JoshyBarth Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 New Born - The stamina you need to play it all the way through...
matthijs Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I'd say most of the really fast songs. Stockholm Syndrome and Butterflies are just so damn fast that it's very hard to play them properly (aka: equal volume levels and neatly playing them!) Hysteria and Futurism are easy, so is New Born when your bass is properly set up. Dark Shines is really tricky too.
Crowella Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Keeping up New Born is annoying, but I wouldn't call it hard. Hysteria and Futurism neither. That little quick bit in Escape however I'd say most of the really fast songs. Stockholm Syndrome and Butterflies are just so damn fast that it's very hard to play them properly (aka: equal volume levels and neatly playing them!) This. Stockholm I have to use a pick to get it sound right, which sucks cause I really prefer using fingers to play bass.
matthijs Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Chris has some really awesome fills during Bliss, TIRO, and most of the Showbiz era songs. Those are damn tricky to get right! (obligatory: "I can't get it riiiiiiiiiight" remark)
cheddatom Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I've never tried that many muse songs but we used to cover new born when I was young and it knackered me. I always had to use three fingers on the right hand for Stockholm Syndrome.
Stewez26 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 The chorus in Sunburn makes me freaking annoyed. MK Jam is also really annoying. Notes in NB are easy but yeah, stamina is a real hard thing there/
Crowella Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 The chorus in Sunburn makes me freaking annoyed. MK Jam is also really annoying. Notes in NB are easy but yeah, stamina is a real hard thing there/ My god, you're right. Forgot about sunburn. Hammering on works but I never seem to get it clean. Also, ill have to try dark shines.
Stewez26 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 lloooawlz I just tried Sunburn again for the first time in a while and it isn't as hard as I remembered it...
Crowella Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 how the fuck is sunburn hard on bass? I just fuck up the hammer ons. Other than that it's fine.
Lord MFC Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Chris hates Dark Shines, fucking difficult.
cheddatom Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Sunburn is piss easy indeed, everything on Showbiz is
Dominic. Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I don't play bass or anything, but I always imagined the chorus of Sunburn sounded difficult...but apparently not
Princess of Promise Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Hysteria. I tried it; and failed epicly. (Then again I am still learning)
Crowella Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 With some songs, it's all in the hands of whoever plays the song. Some find some songs more difficult than others. For example. I had a go at Dark Shines last night and I don't think it's that bad. As for Sunburn, I used to miss the timing on the chorus hammer ons and I on occassion would still do that. I don't get along with it. Another one that others may find difficult, the pre-chous in Resistance. I love playing it. The rest of the album is easy and enjoyable, lot of octaves.
matthijs Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 indeed, everything on Showbiz is I don't agree, some of the riffs Chris plays are really hard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GU3fkC8sVRo 2:04
Lord MFC Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I love those little bluesy bits in showbiz, one of the things i love about the album.
Banksy. Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I love those little bluesy bits in showbiz, one of the things i love about the album. Yeah, he used to do more bluesy riffs in the lives shows back then. Falling Down usually had a few extra Clapton style riffs chucked in. I find Darkshines a cunt to play, but my technique is dire.
