Mr. ORANGE
Somebody tell me WTF? Yeah that made me laugh too...But "Nights of Cydonia" as a name looks very impressive while video shooting 100 000 people from above...in the night...
puffbubble
Sorry Mr. ORANGE had to hit the sack - Leeds took it out of me - and just to clarify YES they played the whole of the Origin of Symmetry. Bliss, space dementia, micro cuts etc etc. But we briefly lost sound and lost visual for quite some time - think the mega rain took its toll on the electronics...s'all part of the experience... rumblebee
I'm from Germany (so sorry for my English), but thanks to satellite TV I was able to watch... well... THIS. I really hoped to see the whole OoS, especially Citizen Erased. But suddenly there was Resistance stuff (which is quite nice, but I wanted OoS). Now I read, that Muse didn't permit BBC to show the whole OoS, because they weren't comfortable with most of the songs. Question to those who were there or in Leeds: Were the performances of the songs that bad? Not permitting to show the songs on TV, why should they permit a DVD with all songs? tjmoore
Whatever the band and/or BBC's reasons, I can see there's an element of doing something special for the fans who are actually there. If they never release this on DVD or whatever format in the future then they have a rare experience to go back on. Just a shame I didn't go myself. Doesn't help that I hate Reading (not specifically the festival, but never been attracted by it anyway).

No...The show was excellent!! I was at Leeds. Admittedly, there was a nanosecond of sound loss in the middle of Hysteria, and the screens went down for a fair while (I think the torrential rain finally got to them!!) ,but the OoS songs were amazing. No problems there at all. I am convinced it is because they have plans for a special 10th Anniversary DVD or boxset or something.
ExogenesisP1
You know what, I'm glad they didn't show the whole of OoS, I feel like it was a secret show, just for the eyes of the people who attended R&L. Sorry but I do
haze015
I hate the bbc! I hate them Why? Muse and their management made a decision and the BBC had to respect that. It is not the first time a headline show hasn't been shown on request by the band. Also the BBC shouldn't be wasting it's time purely focusing on headline acts and forgetting everything else is going on, this was a festival after all, not a Muse gig. Something like the Teignmouth gigs weren't shown in full either.
Mr. ORANGE
That's not the point - they could've just shown the OoS part of the gig...But IF Muse really wanted not to show it, then all right...But I doubt it...
seregon
Somebody tell me WTF? Lol fail I really don't get why people are surprised that they cut out as much as they did. Even with Muse's consent, they're bound to cut a few songs anyway, it's what they always do. And it will be the mainstream friendly songs they use. Yeah, it's disappointing but I would have bet money beforehand that they wouldn't have shown the whole performance

I don't doubt it at all, makes complete sense to me more than anything. There were plenty of people at the festival who didn't know Muse were playing OOS, there'd be many more casual viewers out there who wouldn't know about it either, Muse aren't the band they were 10 years ago and no point showing Britain what they were 10 years ago. It wouldn't make any difference to the BBC what songs they show. The DVD idea makes no sense either.
Uccellino
This from the Muse website: "For those of you not at Reading or Leeds Festival this weekend, don't worry you can watch Muse on BBC Three on Sunday night. Tune in from 10.20pm to watch Muse at Reading playing what promises to be a fantastic set." gives the impression you could see the whole set. After the BBC showing full Muse sets in previous years, it wasn't a ludicrous assumption to expect more than 3 songs. It's a real shame they didn't do the same as they did at Glasto 2010 and broadcast the whole thing.

Sorry but I do I bet I´d have thought the same thing if I had been able to attend. Last week around that time I was under the impression of attending Reading , but then I had to cancel everything because I wasn´t able to fly due to medical reasons. For me the only thing that made it a bit more bearable was the prospect of watching it. And this isn´t just about me, I mean Muse have enough fans, who may not have the money to spend on going to Reading/Leeds. I understand your point, but for those who had to stay at home it´s still very sad. :'( Sorry for my English, I´m from Germany.

citizenerased1988
Pointless build-up from the band and the BBC. Shower of cunts. I'm as disappointed as any one else but lets get our facts straight. Neither MUSE or the BBC said they would air MUSE's set in its entirety when promoting the airing of the show. . Also: it's a privilege any of it gets aired in the first place, not a right. If it was a pay per view event, I can understand all the rage. Here's to hoping for a dvd of the gig soon.
