Benny Benassi ripped off Muse, I think...

I used search function in hopes of finding a youtube videos thread or something, but couldn't find anything, so...

Anyways, today I stumbled upon Benny Benassi's song called "Spaceship" and it sounded way too familiar for me. The verse, pre-chorus, chorus, the same key, everything very familiar. So tell me - is this a rip off or am I just paranoid? *shrug*

As a wanna be musician, accusations like this worry me. Did muse copyright the A minor chord progression? the two are kinda similar but calling it a rip off is a complete exaggeration.

I know what you mean, but this is one of those situations where the two are just too alike. Its like that coldplay and joe satriani.

EDIT: It shouldn't be too hard singing TIRO to this, minus the You will be the death of me part. Try it yourself :)

Really hard for me to believe it's a coincidence...

Yeah. It's very similar, especially when they combined both songs into one, and how in the end it said that he did a remix of TIRO in 2006. It's sad to admit it, but I think they ripped it off.

There is definitely a similarity, but I wouldn't say he ripped TIRO off. More likely that it's one of his favourite songs and some elements of it creeped subconsciously into his music. Also known as an influence.

That's true. Not to say the same thing about another song, but part of Ten Black Roses- The Rasmus, sounds a little like Showbiz.

0:07-0:40 the rhythm of the singing sounds like the main rhythm in Showbiz where he sings "Forcing our darkest souls to unfold."

You are most definitely paranoid. :D:LOL:

Naw, it ~is~ a somewhat noticeable influence but no ripoff. I hear Muse in other songs and vice versa all the time. Last one lately was Musey goodness all over Daft Punk's Tron soundtrack.

But really just posting to say I like your mashup of both songs at the end. Benassi could prolly make a decent remix for Muse in the future.

There are similarities indeed.Maybe it's Muse's influence:p

I don't hink it's a rip off anyway.Just yesterday a girl helped me realise that a greek kinda poppy beginning of song sounds like the begining of PiB.I don't think that artist listens to Muse.I'm trying to say that the fact that one songs sounds like another doesn't mean someone had remake it or something:stunned:

You never know...;)

It doesn't matter any way! That song is awful in my opinion!
