supernova14 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 It was my favorite Muse album for a long time, like a month after I found out about them in early 2010. Now that I've been listening to OoS more, I like that more than Absolution. I guess the track listing is bad, like everybody says. I don't like TOADA that much. There's nothing else to say really.
Jetro Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Now that it's negative, here it goes: -The flow of the album is horrible I've seen that stated here a few times and I'm shocked. I think Absolution has the best flow to date. It's done exactly right, with fast song/slow song/fast song etc. The weird thing is I see people complain about this, but also about Origin of Symmetry getting slow against the end. The transitions are brilliant. SfA in-between TIRO and SS, FAWY going into Interlude, going into Hysteria... eargasm. Then there's the ever so soothing Blackout, followed by a mix, pace-wise, with B&H. I don't have much to say about the next few songs, other than that RBS is the obvious album closer. I'll say it again, Absolution has the best flow of any Muse album. --- But okay, since this originally is about something else: The Small Print is a little bit boring. It feels like a filler to me.
harrypottermegan Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Negative let's see.... Compared to the other albums, even though it's my 2nd favourite, I don't listen to it in full that much. They should have put Fury on it and made either TOADA or Endlessly a b-side.
Couture Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 It makes the other albums sound like shit in comparison.
the_invincible_dude Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 One negative thing, really...where is Fury?
Furygirl Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 TOADA. One negative thing, really...where is Fury? And this.
Dockertae Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Fury, The Groove and Eternally Missed should have been on the album instead of Falling Away With You, TOADA and The Small Print.
MUSEirik Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Fury should have been on it instead of TOADA. I always skip that one. SS into falling away is probebly one of the worst song changes Muse have done. The single version of B&F is way better than the album version, it should have been on there instead. Wow, that was painful to type :'( This + Intro and AP should be one song. And also, Interlude doesn't really do anything for me.
LyraSilvertongue Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Fury, The Groove and Eternally Missed should have been on the album instead of Falling Away With You, TOADA and The Small Print. There's nothing wrong with Endlessly or The Small Print.
offandonagain Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I think I'm the only Muse fan who doesn't like Fury...much happier with TOADA on the album
Enemy Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 TOADA to me, has always had the quality of being a fantastic potential b-side, but a weak album track. Replace it with Fury, and it's an even better album. I've done this on iTunes, and it really does make the last quarter of Absolution really mean something.
drawakangaroo Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 There's nothing wrong with Endlessly or The Small Print. Endlessly is boring on the album. I like The Small Print, though.
Dark115 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Endlessly is boring on the album. I like The Small Print, though. Endlessly is easily the most boring song on the album. Don't see how The Small Print or TOADA get so much hate. I like them both
MUSESTL Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 To anyone who says Endlessly is bad, I point you to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bogOS5L-kuI&feature=related Beautifully haunting
Jetro Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Fury, The Groove and Eternally Missed should have been on the album instead of Falling Away With You, TOADA and The Small Print. Eternally Missed is too similar to Hysteria.
Nipso Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Eternally Missed is way too repetitive. Should've been 2 "you can't resist" verses shorter.
L. Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Not a big fan Endlessly and Blackout, most of the time I just skip them.
goti Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 To anyone who says Endlessly is bad, I point you to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bogOS5L-kuI&feature=related Beautifully haunting I love it!!! They should have put Fury instead of Falling Away With You!
Rafn Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Thoughts of a Dying Atheist is the only negative thing I can say about Absolution. Other than that's it's close to perfect. EDIT: Oh right, Fury should have been added.
the_invincible_dude Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 To anyone who says Endlessly is bad, I point you to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bogOS5L-kuI&feature=related Beautifully haunting I've always liked Endlessly...
drawakangaroo Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 To anyone who says Endlessly is bad, I point you to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bogOS5L-kuI&feature=related Beautifully haunting That's why I said it's boring on the album.
Dominic. Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I think the guitar in Blackout could've been played/recorded/better toan
