I was indeed :p I really can't wait for the new film to come out.

YKWYATM when you spot traits of their songs in other material..

oh and...

YKWYATM when you wish Matt was in the Weird Sisters band with Johnny Greenwood and Jarvis Cocker

If you insist on creating your own acronyms, at least have the decency to enlighten the rest of us as to their meaning.

It's maybe a piece of classical music that inspired Matt? I love that part of Resistance, it's beautiful and very sad, but yes, in listening to this, I wanted it to kick in!

Yeah, Matt was inspired by the soundtrack to "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". I'm sure that in the 2 months between the release of the film and The Resistance, Matt had the soundtrack playing on repeat to give him ideas.

I think it sounds like the guitar solo before the piano part in Citizen Erased

Well, all three of these melodies (including the HP one) are based on the Am scale, so there are bound to be similarities. Same as the PIB riff is based on the Bm scale, so there is a section in Bach's Toccata + Fugue in Dm that sounds like it.

I meant was that the piece in Harry Potter could have been taken from a classical piece of music that Matt had also listened to.

I noticed this in deathly hallows part 2 today, I think they used the same music in one of the scenes. I mentioned it to my girlfriend, she didn't seem to see the resemblance. It's just a very similar chord progression.

Saw part 2 today and noticed that bit right away.

Nobody mentioned the random mention of Teignmouth at the end of Deathly Hallows one? Apparently Shell Cottage is near there.

I remember that! :yesey:

Yeah, when I went to watch part 1 with some non-muser friends, when Ron said Teignmouth, I exclaimed "Ooh, Teignmouth!" and subsequently recieved many confused looks from friends and strangers alike. Maybe it was a bit loud.

And Yes, I've recognised the chord progressions in other HP films too.

Went to see part 2 today & the music is just so Resistance. Was just waiting for the piano to kick in. This is the same piece that was used in Half Blood Prince too.
