JimboMansonMB-1 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 As requested, a thread where we can all turn our insatiable GAS for Mansions and other assorted fanboi equipment (Twisty Chaoss, anyone?) into some sort of plan.
Dominic. Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Had to be done May post mine later if I have time. Although I'm not the best at all the technical stuff involving rigs
zooropa1310 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Aside from another DT-50 head and cab (for dual amp stereo live sound), add on a John Mayer Two Rock sig amp, and I'm all set My rig is everything I could want!

JimboMansonMB-1 Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 You're getting a vintage AC30? I jelly... For a Strat, I highly recommend a Tom Anderson Might pick one up after school starts...
Will_ Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 There's no point in me posting mine as I don't have a clue what half of the decent pedals are, or how any of it works I'm fine with a Korg Multi-FX and a soundcard
IntelligentAl Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Here we go...the ones in red I don't have...yet... Guitars: Some sort of strat Thought you already had a Strat?
james90 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 You're getting a vintage AC30? I jelly... For a Strat, I highly recommend a Tom Anderson Might pick one up after school starts... Not yet! maybe someday. And I used to have an anderson, but I didn't really "bond" with it...ended up selling it. It wasn't a traditional strat type though, which is what I'm looking for this time. I think it was all mahogany except for the flame maple top. Not a bad guitar at all though. Thought you already had a Strat? It's currently in pieces as I wasn't happy with the neck. Not sure if I'll put it back together or just replace it with something better.
Bs Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 It's currently in pieces as I wasn't happy with the neck. Not sure if I'll put it back together or just replace it with something better. Did you do a Bellamy and throw it because "it was making a racket"? I can't believe you have so many guitars and amps but you don't have a Whammy!
Gohenko Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Oh man, I'm shit in things like this, don't know anything about the actual equipment and rigs and stuff, I just play my guitar. But anyway... Guitars that I'd like to have: Some sort of Ibanez guitar with a tremolo in it. Manson MB-1 (yeah, you saw that coming, right? ) Some sort of...um...custom guitar, haven't really given any serious thoughts to it because I know I probably can never afford them. But yeah...custom guitars, I have a thing for them. I'll think about them more after I get some serious money. (Yeah, like that is ever gonna happen...) Effects and stuff that I'd like to have: Line 6 M13 (with an expression pedal) Fuzz Factory Digitech Whammy DT MXR 6-band EQ Amps that I'd like to have: Well...I would really like some kind of amp with at least 4 channels. I have a Blackstar HT-20 at the moment and have been really happy with it, but Blackstar doesn't make amps with 4 channels, so I would choose probably Diezel VH4 with Diezel V212F cabinet. Remember, as I said, I know nothing about these things, really
Doog Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 haha I think I'd break the thread if I posted ALL the gear I wanted. suffice to say if I won the lottery or something I'd definitely have to have a spinal tap style room to keep all my guitars in

IntelligentAl Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Have you tried custom shop? I seem to remember you saying you werent that impressdd with the USA Fenders, maybe have the custom shop make one to your spec? And I know this will probably sound like a stupid suggestion seeing as the USA Fenders werent to your taste, but seriously, try out a few of the higher end Squiers. Theyll look really out of place on your guitar rack next to the Mansons, but you might be extremely surprised by the quality of the higher end Squiers. I forget the exact model name, is it Squier Classic Vibe? Those things are seriously good, not at all what I expected from Squier.
james90 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Yeah I've heard good things about them - I might check them out. The USA fenders aren't worth it to me.
IntelligentAl Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 To be honest, you can get such good quality guitars for so much less these days, that the USA Fenders really are becoming a bit pointless. The Mexican Fenders and the Squiers, and even just some of the less expensive copies, are such good quality now that it seems completely unneccessary to spend twice as much for a USA anymore. I mean there will always be the odd bad guitar regardless of whether you go USA, Mexican or Squier, but the consistency of the quality of the less expensive models these days is amazing, and definitely worth looking into.
Will_ Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Thought I'd just say I have a Squier Tele Custom (the hybrid) and I'm not going too well with that... Ok so partial rig lol. Guitars: Manson E-Shape custom, cba to put specs. (Standard E tuning) Manson Custom-T custom (Dropped D) MA-2 Gibson LP Custom Tele shape, dunno who it'd be built by An AF guitar Effects: Fuzz Factory Ibanez TS-9 Boss DD-3 Big Muff Amps: AC30 I honestly don't know much atm so that's all I have
randomparrot Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Thought I'd just say I have a Squier Tele Custom (the hybrid) and I'm not going too well with that... Really? I have one and I love it

Yeah, I agree - I'm definitely going to check out the squiers if they're as good as they sound. A few years back I had this ibanez (below) which was made in china, but was an amazing guitar. flawless. It was setup properly and had the frets gone over, but I really couldn't fault it...looked amazing as well. ended up selling it to fund the AF though. It was $600 iirc, so one of the more expensive ones, but it was pretty amazing.
Neil. Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 YAY!!! Fun thread of gas mk II! Guitars: Peavey Rotor EXP (Red - Standard Tuning) Spear Relic RD (White - Standard Tuning) Eastwood Airline (Red - Open E Tuning) Fender Road Worn Tele (White - Open A Tuning) Amps: Vox AC30 Vox AC100Head to Vox 412 Vintage Cab Silvertone 1485 Head to Vox 412 Vintage Cab Effects: WH4 > Blowing Up > Issue 3.3 (x2) > Selmer Sim > SLO100 Sim > Tube Preamp > You Dirty Rat > Cannon > Big Muff (Tone Wicker) > Fuzz Face > Malekko 616 > Alesis Midiverb 16 > Utter Stutter + Delay + Flanger > Tube Tremolo Now that would complete me.
Will_ Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Really? I have one and I love it It's a nice guitar, but I don't think it suits me atm. Funny, it was the first guitar I bought without trying it beforehand... says a lot really!

I hadn't read your posts in here before replying to your pm, but I have a squier tele custom as well and tbh it's one of my favourite guitars. ok I've changed out the pickups in it, but I've done the same in my tele fmt as well
