Ridiculous things people have said to you about Muse

Well, there's certainly never been a shortage of things on the Muse board to argue about. But perhaps we should stick to the topic. ;)

Meh, I can't think of anything ridiculous someone has said about Muse. However, my daughter was watching some atrocious show on Disney that was featuring some wretched musical act, and my husband said "Is that Muse?" :wtf::mad:

Does the TP roll go over or under?

Oh, and over for sure. Anyone who says otherwise is just fooling themselves.

My so called best friend told me all about how Muse are just a stereotypical white guy emo band... She pisses me off so much when she talks about music, she doesn't even listen to Muse so how does she know?!

Yep, ignore her. Or argue pointlessly for a couple hours....

Agreed.

"Muse? Oh yeah, they're from Twilight! :awesome:"

 you can see why I dumped her...

"I heard them in Dallas opening for U2, they kinda sucked."

U2 kinda sucked in Dallas too, it was the fucking sound system, not the band

"Muse do use auto tune"

"Muse are a pop band"

"Muse are overrated"

"Muse don't care about their fans"

I thought they did care about their fans, they seem to in videos of them with fans :S

Anyway, the other day we were watching Radiohead on tv

Mum: Is that Muse?

Me: :noey:

And today in the bike shop they started playing Hysteria and I got excited and my brother started whining along because he's another one of those who thinks Matt whines :(

Muse, the band, as in the three boys from Devon, Matt, Chris, and Dom, do care about their fans. Tom Kirk cares about their fans.

Being a worldwide superstar rock band isn't easy, you people need to realize that it's not just Matt, Chris, and Dom sitting in a room planning their setlists to piss everyone in Main Muse off. They may not even get to choose the sets anymore. I can't see them being totally bent over a desk for Warner, but you've all got to understand that they've got other influences now, other than the people who want to hear nothing but Citizen Erased and Hyper Music over and over again.

Surely playing a shit setlist one night, and then playing a setlist that is obviously more fan oriented the second night (Wembley) and saying that "tonight is for the fans" isn't caring about your fans? There was also the extreme case of Brisbane.

Other than that we had the setlist polls, the Muscle Museum pedal that went missing, the towers "restricting setlists" everywhere except Australia and Turin, the "rehearsing with an orchestra" and the incredibly poor performances at some gigs (Roskilde etc). Then there was the little tour they did in Asia, with Dead Star being played twice never to be seen again, despite being a song that fans love and that Matt (apparently) loves playing. Let's not forget that they also went from 18 songs to 15 during their own arena tour. 15 songs is what they played at festivals during the summer. This is simply not acceptable. That is directly short-changing your fans, no matter how you look at it.

They have also mentioned in several interviews that they do in fact have a lot of control over what's going on, so that they don't get to write their own setlists seems highly unlikely to me. Tom Kirk even told Alix that "Matt puts a lot of effort into the setlist every night", which is also hilariously inaccurate.

No no, don't try to put this on anyone else. This tour has been all about making money, getting new fans and mind-fucking hardcores. Muse have a lot of control and so this is very likely to be their fault. They have been lazy and short-changing fans, both casuals and hardcores, and that's the simple truth.
