cheddatom
chill out man. For my final project at uni all I did was a 5.1 mix of (no logo) stuff. The idea was to simulate a live performance, but that's what my stereo mix sounded like in the first place, so they just kind of took the piss and gave me a 3rd. matthijs
I like the idea of this studio, but I would think that it's mostly suitable for recording bands in a live situation. You would have to work with movable panels in order to shield microphones from picking up too much other sounds, but it's something where I would like recording a demo! Good to read that even though they had some comments, there were quite some positive things about it too.

Neil.
heh! thanks. One of my firends reminded me of one of the comments today: "It doesn't look like a studio from the plans. It looks like an extremely nice villa for someone with a lot of money, you know, in somewhere like california, but it doesn't look like a studio." /architecturemisplacement I actually get similar comments on all my work, that I design with a very domestic scale. Guess i'm suited to houses moreso than studios. In all honesty, as deflated as i am about the whole thing, i'm pleased with my own work. I do appreciate all the help and input that you all gave me. Maybe one day when you're building your own studios, you'll give me a shout. hahaha! OHAI MEWZE! I CAN DESIGNS YER NEW SCHOODIO?
matthijs
I like homey studios. That's what I particularly found attractive to the Grouse Lodge parts I saw on the making of absolution. Very appealing!
Impulse 101
I'm sorry that I didn't check back on the thread a long time ago. We installed a new audio automation system for both of our radio stations at work and I'm one of the senior engineers so I've been working so much that I kind of lost track of everything. Have you been graded on everything for this project yet Neil or are you still working on it? JT
Neil.
had my presentation for it on thursday, but it didn't go very well. There's a description of what happened above, but various bullshit points were made, like appropriateness to the site blah blah blah. It was a disaster. I'm still pleased with how it came out, and i learnt a fuck load. Shit happens I guess. As with all the final projects, they'll be looked at by external examiners, and then my grade will be decided by my 4 tutors, and 2 externs. I should get my grade in about august. Hopefuly a pass!
