Ok I came to get down, that is where you take me

The only one who can make me flush with things I believe I am missing.

The hint of your face in everyone and I'm awake

And in a madness I am young again

Approaching full bloom

I trust my feelings, what binds me to the floor

A flower I can see it when I close my eyes

You turn it to fire, I am pious

Petals reaching to the sky.

She handles the dark

like a maestro

Commanding the violins and violas

to move bow

As her fingers curl around a moment

that time cannot erase

A smile broadens

across a stark landscape

and the drums begin to bellow

to drive the movement

as time stands still

With fife raised to lips

the high pitched tones

decorate the moment

festive and light

While the cellos sad song

rounds out that moment

As a pinhole of light

in a dark hermits lair

Thanks juju :D

Nice to see you back L_J!

Ok my take on bleakness

Another day like I have no say in my time. Travelling so slowly

As it creeps up im choosing my bullet for the day another way to stop feeling, passing the buck anesthetsied and almost happy.

Such an important decision to make the one: the one who will make you.

Here I am, somehow not enough.

When he chose to touch my hand

Then rose up to pose

Without realising that is all it was. A face. More proof for those who speak loudest.

I've nothing good to say about them, nothing but a bad taste associated when I hear the town crier call.

White Raven

Lost to the heavens

leaves a tear on my soul

Darkness alludes me

I am a white raven

flying alone

no more are stones

thrown

Eyes of a fiercely carved

star

watching

awaiting your return

in the wake of memories

I’ll float above

my wings the shade

of a dove’s

My breathing grows heavy

as the sands in the desert shift

Soaring though this

poisonous storm wind

calling you in my dream

Escaping a trap that was

set

by the wizards

who sought control

of the night

Come out of the umbra

into the nimbus of our

man-made gods

Step into the opaline light

and let your creativity

from within shine

brighter than the

summer solstice

Let your genius

come forth and flourish

like an umbel

filled with

every hopeful wish

And blaze brighter

than our daylight star

with your own incandescent

brilliance

I'm writing down, at the time I stop to take account, the things I'm feeling, in what amount. Just how much it hurts to scream into the dark and hear it soon returned.

What have I learned from stoicism, think every day on the dead and your spot reserved.

And how painful it is to attach yourself to an ever moving and uncontrollable source of joy.

So though I get no joy from it, you and I will soon enough fade and I know I'll regret above all else, the wasted years screaming into the void.

Like watching a child, stumbling around. I'm watching without correcting.

As you get older you can see these are the mistakes it is ok to make.

Getting up is the key, learning.

So I can feel from outside, involved but compassionate.

Free because it could be so much worse.

The cordylines have all turned pale limes

Around my prosperous home.

And I've turned grey, so muted in my day to day

Only broken by rejected greetings, every night, dashed meetings in the foxes den.

As I take my dark road home,

Colder inside than out.

Stealing kisses from lips

the smoke trails trace around

Find the perfect place for your words to escape you.

When your hair passes through your hands I

Fall through the strands off the curving face of the earth.

Why do we toil when we receive no gain

Past the point of pain we keep toiling without tally.

In the end it meant nothing,

No return only a clear road home.

:erm: Social anxiety alert (don't be terribly hard on me) :

Illusions we have made

Could we ever break away

Or would it all start again

Stars could fall for a million years

Will we ever be heard

Through all the lies we've made

Just to prove we can fight

For one more chance to rearrange

Break away

Come alive - get out while you still can.

Thank you so much RH :) Anonymous sharing is generally easier for me when inspiration comes - randomly. I will happily contribute more as it comes out. Thanks again - I appreciate the encouragement!

There is so much good stuff on this forum. I'm a lurker and just recently signed up. I look forward to reading more from you and everyone.

I'm falling into following trails that fail

And lead me into nothing.

Leave me waiting in the dark for fingers to snap

"Wake up!"

The brightest spark seems to fade

I follow one path closely

Because I'm scared to peek outside

To meet a million faces.

I want to express things but I can't find decent imagery to express it in a poetic way.

Very frustrating.

Traveled down paths

where beauty was mangled

and misused

solely for selfish intent

Knowing where to draw a line

Crucial

Having the strength

of a moments exchange

redirected focus

restores mangled beauty

and does not allow

hate to reign

For so long hidden

as dark is brought to light

Where eyes recognize truth

as it pours from lips

Be a part of re-sculpting beauty

Restoration of a Needed Kind

or be bound by those old chains

Sorry it has been so long! Miss you guys!

Hi all, I've posted on here before many years ago when I was a new boardie, but I'd like to start posting in here again! so here is my newest poem, Mermaid, Rewritten.

What she learned on the sand

That day was forgotten for so long,

Tamed and refined to fit her new duty

But today,

Today her memory's tide surged back

She was engulfed.

Happily.

A mountain she was all too willing to flounder across

Now stands, inviting her to former depths.

Now, again, she is far too willing.

Her people would be crazed

The gentleness she cultivated for years-

Shattered

A pearl such as this couldn't be renewed

The jewels of the water

Lapping at the shore

Mesmerize her

Much more than those she wore.

She dived in, her heart leading the way to her beloved castle

Its light refracting in the sea

Oh, the salt in the water

Oh, the magic that held her safe...

Fins! Scales!

Joy stole her away into its undertow

The matter is, she did not love Eric less,

But that she loved home more.

To lead me home I have a burning effigy, and a winding star at apogee

A red dart that follows, from start to end.

cows let out to graze

Swarmed in a tubulant haze swallowing a million flies spiralling, spinning out.

Why would I ever go? Leaving a trail of lazy wisteria. looking back with whimsy, where has it ever got me?

I chased a thought

head encased in concrete

a moments clarity staring out

at beauty hard fathom

a crystal cave

thoughts rattling

bats flapping echo on

and on I go

following the same direction

to a life chained in fear

I don't need it

don't need to save you

I am free

So, I wanted to just drop in and say I'm enjoying the new stuff! I'm kind of a quiet in the corner kind of person - and I'm pretty socially awkward - but I wanted to let you know that I'm reading and enjoying!!

Hopefully, I'll have something to contribute soon!

:)

Ok I'LL do one shall I?

From him I have learned what it is to belong. In whatever state it may be

In whatever direction it sways

I stay true.

Just like you

I hope to read like the spine of a leaf, transparent, delicate and green.

From him I've learned to trust no one

Evaluate every breath,

Give nothing.

A price raised eyes blinking counting pennies.

From him I have learned about real pain.

The end of childhood.

Regretting lost perfection

The price of a fantastic lie.

Taught to me through my own

Thoughts. My words in silence.

Blah blah oh well

I loved the leaf imagery! Here's my most recent one, Soulmates (We):

Maybe we are two ingredients in

The same primordial soup

Or we became the first star the Big Bang spewed out

I don't know. Our origins don't matter.

What matters is that the energy of our being manifested

Into beings that understand iotas of what we are.

What we may be.

Maye we once were binary stars,

Orbiting each other until one of us explodes

Leaving the other surrounded by remains.

But I firmly believe we're not always pairs.

Maybe our soup stirred more of us together

Or that very first supernova cast us all far away.

Maybe we divided our energy and we keep finding

Clones of our bond like breadcrumbs in the forest.

I like that one best.

If good luck is real

We'll end up as lovers,

But there are some things a soul learns alone.

If I could remember every thing we were, I would.

If I could know every place we were, I would.

If I could remember our multitude, I'd do it in a

Human heartbeat.

Maybe once we liked on different planets

Connected only by the same sense of

Loneliness

Emptiness

Vastness

There are innumerable ways to be bound together

Family

Friends

An artist and their muse

A pack or a pride

A revolution and its cause

Even organs in a body (I'll be the kidneys, the lungs are all yours)

I just hope we're together.

To describe this condition we (possibly) my (not) have,

I've searched far and wide, and I've come to

One solution.

We.

A word without singularity,

A feeling of joy and togetherness.

A commitment.

The closest thing we've got to happiness.

How have I become so lost

afraid of what adventure costs

Well I will find your lost toy

in every country in every story

And I'll she'll come back with no concerns

A brand new elephant returned

With tales of bears who turn their backs

And when her trunk is there unpacked

You'll see the magic has returned.
