Jujubean
Within me is a reflex to blindly protect Those I care for from a perceived threat I stand and walk block and defend Between the danger and my friend But I can't protect who isn't there Can I do more than say I care? petronia
Folks, I have a question I thought I could bother you with, hope you don't mind. What would be a good place online for an author in the US to put their writings (prose, mainly) for others to read? Writers' forums and the like, maybe? Jujubean
Small changes in initial conditions grow quickly into complex seemingly random patterns In organic systems_we cannot know every factor_we cannot see everything that matters Blue skies_hurricanes_population lines_sudden quakes_the movement of celestial bodies These are all full of illusive unchaotic things the nonlinear embody
WutDaFucksy
I've set myself up a mostly poetry blog (felt I had to do something after doing 3 years of a creative writing degree ) so here it is!
L_J
The bravest of brave took life and threw it away What spurns man to challenge forces? What drives one to set different courses? Lost at sea, guided by will Your words resound...their comments shrill So run as far and fast as necessary find a new home of comfort and peace and know you Tried to get them to see know you Tried to set them free:facepalm:

Jujubean
When I try to think of a word for you A thousand come tumbling down I sort carefully through each But none have the right sound For no one word can even Express how you astound You do this even On common ground
L_J
In the expanded periphery is where, is where you'll find me Where the world is ours and the constant troubles of existence cease to exist Where we are free Hangin in the periphery Look, look further Work, work harder Things aren't always what they seem When hangin in the periphery Come see, come see with me You'll scream out Scream out loud Just remember you can't touch It ain't something that can be proven Just something ya know Come see, come see the expanded periphery There's more to the show than you may know The show of life and how the guided fight in their names Take the control For yourself and fight on the periphery Stand back and watch Look for a sign That your message was heard Cause they heard mine
Dragondust
Out of This Blue Rain I am blind as the drops fall down you thought you saw me once you said In someone else’s eyes I can see as the drops fall down a door opening inside of them shimmering yet in cold silence leading to a room I am alone as the drops fall down inside of them is our old room Scratching on the floor listening as you speak a tempered metal missing it’s link to a time that was once before yet now is gone and can sing no more So we’ll fly out of this blue rain and let the sun’s shade warm us once again. L_J
Standing sturdy and strong you present all the strength you posses Your cunning wit and written charm In my eyes you can do no harm Your tempered grace again, emits radiant glow That inquisitiveness that boroughs to the core shows one what all this is for In my eyes none have had you at your best Your challenges are game for play Point any direction and I will stay
Jujubean
Are you Iris the rainbow messenger of swift golden wings? Oh, Wondrous One, to you should I sing? Are you Selene, the eye of the night, of the black hair and penetrating light? Or, are you Calliope, eldest muse and most wise? Is this the name I should assign to your eyes? They shine so bright and see so clear. When they look at me, I know no fear. Immortal you are and found in the sky. I look up to you only at night. There is where I point. There is where you are. An ever-fixed mark, you are the North Star.
WutDaFucksy
Jerry: Jerry worked in the opaque city, Skyscrapers grey, Surrounding his every move, Like a pack of wolves. A lacklustre lonely office, Gormless faces and second-hand suits, Trudging between desks, Waiting for day’s desertion. Client’s screams searing, Down a phone line of disappointment, Letting each down, Sympathy a useless commodity. Trundling train rammed, The cattle riding it home, Claustrophobia standing still, Until safety’s station. His soporific flat, Forecasts relaxation, Which sadly never arrives, As shrieks fill his vacant ears. He’s not doing enough, Her lavish lifestyle infiltrated, Insufficient funds for faking love, Tearing their torrid affair apart. She packed her bags and ran, To the next target, Squeezing his life away, Like the juice from a lemon. Sour, bitter and stricken, Jerry looked upon a noose, Easier than his broken being, Curing his headache eternally.

Jujubean
The North Star is important in how it guides one home but there are many crucial stars for when one must roam There are 57 of them that give a circle of position Without these vital stars one may not find their location Arcturus you might be but to my eyes you are not Let me direct you away to a different spot Call the Life of Heaven the Weaving Girl and the Messenger of Light It is the handle of Orpheus' Harp and the 2nd brightest in a northern night But once upon a time way far back when Vega was the north pole star and it will be again

L_J
The constant push that drives the pull Watching the effect when focused on the cause Can't seem to let it go as it goes unsaid in all those places always leaving movement traces that counterbalance, ice cold precision They mask with mal intent to maintain a foothold above the rest When ten seconds turn into one I know your there too I know your the one

L_J
The words, they come so infrequently They can't be defined by the language I see I know how you feel trapped in ever-changing illusion with arrows that point only causing confusion Torn between duality and what is appropriate for the world to see The horizon a line tween day and night the masks we wear to hide the fright Holding onto a minute truth pushes us further only to reveal the proof
Jujubean
I tried to compose a puzzle or an interesting rhyme, something that draws you in and challenges your mind. But I got stuck on a verse while trying to stay within propriety. Struggling only makes it worse and I was unable to say what drives my vitality. This problem is deep as it requires an analysis to discover the proofs. Here is how I describe my endangered truth: WALOG_ I_C: elegance of presentation and beauty of concept TFAE: natural well-behaved smooth But, my back-of-envelope calculation says: 1+1+1+1+1+1+1 = <3 4U
Jujubean
Beauty and strength in you and in your hands Patient and kind you'll be in your touch Skill and grace you possess in your movements Gentleness, always, for those you love -- Speed without thought has never gone well for me To stop mistakes, I have to think things through Distracted every day, whether idle or rushed I have to stop and think so that I speak the truth I don't want to say something while utterly confused
L_J
The house of cards wobble and teeter making them squirm as we stand tall and proud That strength of the One to undo all that's been done... in the name of power... in the name of money... and in the name of greed Though not... in the name of truth With the flicker of a finger the song nears crescendo building ever so slowly to erupt in glorious ferverance that the masses will hear The voice that they don't even know they fear
