Fan club and pre-sales

Sorry if this has been discussed before but am fairly newish to the site and not seen anything about this since I have been on.

I have searched all over the internet and not found an 'official' Muse fan club. Is this really the case? If so, how come???? Im sure there would be enough interest in this.I for one would be more than happy to join. I know one of the benefits of being a member of other bands fan clubs - U2 for instance- gives the true fans the chance of buying tickets before they go on general sale. That alone would be enough for me to join!

Would appreciate any info on why this isnt happening with Muse......:)

Ah ok...thanks for that!!! Like I say am a newbie....despite joining in 2009 only just started going on the site regularly!!:$:D

Technically I'm a newer-bee ;) I don't mind being given a higher status tho

Edit: Just seen your bit about only just going on the site regularly now.

It would be kind of nice if they had something similar to Linkin Park Underground...where members get a yearly package of goods like exclusive merch and even "exclusive" albums with B-sides.

I was a member of the LPU wayyyy back in the day and it srsly wasn't that good tbh. Tbh, I think paid memberships, in a way, just end up alienating some fans. Not on, really.

Yeah, that's true.

I never joined the LPU because I didn't think the extra stuff was worth it, but I think it's possible to be done well. I think Muse have enough rabid fans to have a successful fan club. Just make it CHEAP and instead of giving exclusive songs or whatever, just make it so the members maybe get physical copies of B-sides and other merch a little bit earlier than the general public. Like a presale of sorts.

Oh, it's certainly possible for it to be done well, sure. But I still think the idea of paying a fee every year just to get something that should be available to everybody isn't really on. If you're a fan, you're a fan and that should be the end of it, imo. And I think my pet hate with fan clubs is that some of them do actually have fan club exclusive presales, I find that really unfair. But that's obviously just my own opinion

Hm yeah I wouldn't want the fanclub to get early ticket sales or anything. They would definitely need to balance it in a way that wouldn't alienate fans. Even if it's just like an exclusive shirt that says "Official Fan Club" or something like that. *shrug* I don't know, I'm just rambling. :p

I wouldn't want a paid fan club - paying extra just for one presale every three years and some rare tracks probably wouldn't cut it. U2 are certainly not a good example - right now people are quite annoyed with the fanclub because there's been very little good content released through it so people don't feel the payments are justified.
