dontask
I'll argue with you if you want Sippe? I feel we get on far too well these days
yoyonco10
i think the main difference between muse having somewhat "cheesy" or "cliche" lyrics is that they capture the emotion behind it perfectly with the music to add more meaning and feeling to it, whereas other artists just have cliche lyrics with music that doesnt back the cheesyness at all, thus increasing the cheese factor. Thats actually a good way of putting it, and you could argue that this has stopped with songs like GL and NSC.
Priad-Luabe
that last sentence was pretty ironic considering what you just said... i live for irony Tbh, your argument makes pretty much everything the wrong word to use I can't call new Muse songs cliché because there are old songs that I like that are (less) cliché. Does this mean that I can't call a song bad because there are worse songs out there, or because there are less bad Muse songs that I enjoy? If I for example call a new song cheesy and horrible, that doesn't mean that I have to hate every song that has something cheesy about it. Oh well, I'm off too...I hope i just feel people should be more explanatory as to why they dislike songs, as opposed to just using one or two words i think the main difference between muse having somewhat "cheesy" or "cliche" lyrics is that they capture the emotion behind it perfectly with the music to add more meaning and feeling to it, whereas other artists just have cliche lyrics with music that doesnt back the cheesyness at all, thus increasing the cheese factor. Hat
i just feel people should be more explanatory as to why they dislike songs, as opposed to just using one or two words I'm pretty certain that there has been enough reasons for the GL(etc) hate
dontask
I'm pretty certain that there has been enough reasons for the GL(etc) hate but only one reason to love it, and that was taken away from us.

Cameron.
I think "cheese" is definitely subjective. It generally seems to work though, it got us all here.
